A/N: Hello Everyone! I'm back with a new chapter! I apologize that I haven't been updating often. I've been busy with classwork that I haven't gotten the time to update this story. Well, I'm back! In this chapter, two battles will take place. This is my first time writing a Pokemon battle so if I get anything wrong then feel free to correct me. Anyways enjoy!

Lumiose Academy (Gym) - Afternoon
(No POV)
After lunch, Ash and his friends made their way to the gym in which they had a class for battling. The gym was pretty big especially having four battlefields for each student to battle in. Ash and the rest of the gang were sitting on the bleachers as they watched Misty battling some random student.
Misty had her Gyarados while the other student had an Aggron. However, the battle was as good as over as Misty told her Pokemon to use Hydro pump which knocked her opponent's Aggron out.
"Aggron is unable to battle!" The Referee announced. "Gyarados is the winner! Which means Misty Waterflow wins this match!"
Ash and his friends cheer for Misty for her victory. Misty returned her Pokemon and shook the hand of her opponent showing good sportsmanship. She made her way to where the gang was sitting as they congratulate her on her win.
"Way to go, Misty!" May spoke.
"Yea, that was an awesome battle!" Ash exclaimed.
"Gee, thanks guys," Misty said as she was embarrassed by the praise she was getting.
"That's why you're number one in my book, Babe!" Gary joined in flirtingly.
Misty hit Gary with her paper fan when he called her that. Later on, as the class continued more and more battles ensued with the students. So far each of Ash's friends had their battles with other students and most of them did pretty well while some not so much.
Barry was battling next as he was up against an opponent who had mid-length purple hair that has one big strand hanging over the middle of his face, small dark eyes. He was wearing a purple jacket with navy blue sleeves, a blue undershirt, dark purple pants, and purple and navy sneakers with white soles. He had a scowl on his face.

Barry had an excited look on his face as he recognized his opponent.
"Well, Well! Long time no see Paul." Barry greeted however Paul scoffed at his response as he looked coldly at Barry.
Ash and his friends found Paul's response a bit rude.
"Man, what's that guy's problem?" Ash questioned.
"He's always like that," Drew answered. "That's Paul he's in the second class, he is a strong trainer but he can be a big grump."
"Indeed." Dawn joined in. "Paul is from Sinnoh like where Barry and I come from. We have run-ins with him before but he acts like a cold-hearted jerk just like Cross! Still, I wouldn't want to mess with him if I were any of you."
