Do you ask for His Guidance every single time you are placed on a situation wherein someone asks you for help or a suggestion of what is to be done?
Do you take in it seriously or you just go and make yourself cool and answer in a manner where people will think you are all witty?
How many of us have encountered people who are like this or how many of us are of this kind? Yes, even if its online when someone asks for advice what do we usually answer, something that sounds cool for others to see, hear or read or we advice something that really comes from our hearts, something we all asked Allah Azza Wa Jall to guide us of words to say?
_____I want to share to you one beautiful habit of 'Umar Ibn Al Khattab Radiyallahu Anhu on taking decisions and giving advices to people who are in need of these.
Urwah narrated that whenever two complainants came to 'Umar Radiyallahu Anhu, he would pray "O Allah, guide me concerning their matter, so none of them can deceive me with his scandalous tongue," before listening to their arguments.
Indeed, this is an Amir of the Believers, who always turns to Allah Azza Wa Jall whenever there is a matter that needs to be resolved. Even how minute these are, they all ask for His Guidance, because they all know Guidance comes from no One but Allah Azza Wa Jall.
_____This story of 'Umar might look very simple to all of you, but behind it is such a great wisdom wherein it makes us realize that even how much knowledge Allah bestows upon us, even how high a status Allah gives us or however we will be successful in this life, everything is by His Will Power, hence we should always turn to Him for every aspect may it be for knowledge, protection or guidance.
We all know, for a reason or two, for a fact, for everything single thing, that we are so in need of Allah Azza Wa Jall.
So next time you will want to give some piece of advice, ask for His Guidance first. in sha Allah
_____And we pray that Allah Azza Wa Jall enlighten our hearts to gain and walk more upon what He guides us to. Amin
