Matt walks down the sidewalk and just gets out of the floating suburbs then suddenly ducks from an incoming fairy. He pops back up angrily, "Watch where your going!" he shouts at her furiously as the fairy continues to fly away. She keeps flying but shouts back at him. "I'm sorry" In a squeaky fairy tone sincerely and continues to fly down the sidewalk not even looking back. Matt scoffs and continues down the sidewalk.
He then comes across a fancy futuristic looking soda vending machine. "Yeah, I know it's ten in the morning but I am just craving some magic root beer." he thinks to himself. He walks up to it and stops; his left hand dives into his left pocket and he grips his worn leather wallet. He pulls out a couple dollars situating them in his hand then feeding them into the machine. He watches a small imp from through the glass, carry his money down a ladder, attached to the back, to the base of the machine. Matt presses a button saying "Magic Root Beer"; another imp close to the root beer climbs up another ladder up to where the floating can was. He reached for it desperately and manages to grab and pull it out of it's floatation spell. The imps were a little smaller then soda cans and although soda cans are more than the imp's own weight they can carry things up to triple their weight. The imp descends the ladder and comes to a small hatch which he opens and rolls the can down a ramp into a little metal bin; the imp then closes the hatch going out of sight.
"Thanks." Says Matt as he reaches for the can. His hand extends to the can and grips it but as he begins to bring his arm up, the imp suddenly pushes through the hatch and grabs Matt's wrist firmly with his tiny hand. "I'm coming!" The imp says in a deep demon-like tone then retreats his hand back inside the hatch. Matt pops up leaving the can and goes to the glass. Staring through it, to the edge inside where the hatch was, to see the imp laying on the floor and other imps surrounding him on their knees trying to check his pulse and breathing.
Matt anxiously thinks of what to do as he paces. He doesn't know what he should do so he just calls 911. "911 what's your emergency." Says a female voice. "Hold on, is this the Boston police department?." Matt asks. "Um, yes, do you have an emergency?" She responds. "Nevermind then, I don't." Matt hangs up. "Dangit! I don't know what The Realm's call number for emergencies is!" He says to himself. He then just shouts. "Someone call an ambulance there's an imp here who is hurt...or something." Matt doesn't really know what happened he just knows something happened.
He begins walking away as an ambulance arrives. "Oh shoot, I forgot my root beer." he thinks to himself. He turns around and sprints through the crowd gathered and into the scene. Josie was in the snoopy crowd. "Matthew what the heck are you doing?!" She yells. "I have to get my root beer!" Matt snaps back. "An imp just had a stroke and your just strolling past ambulances and the imp's crying family members for a drink and you don't find that just a little twisted?!" She yells as he picks up his root beer from the bin. "I don't know." He says not really paying attention to her. Matt starts walking back then is stopped by medics carrying a stretcher with the imp on it. He stands in the middle of the scene with a root beer in his hand. Josie scoffs at him from a few yards away. Matt then walks through the crowd as the medics pass.
He sighs. "Can't I just have a normal freaking day?!" He thinks to himself as he continues down the sidewalk.
He passes the arena and comes to the line of shops. The shops were small and all connected and you could access a shop from it's neighboring by a door-less doorway in the back of each shop. They were all built from a form of stone and because all the shops being connected it was most recognized as a long mall but with many front doors because each was it's own shop.
After halfway passing the whole of the mall, Matt rolls his eyes as a young boy around 6 years old approaches him. Not that he didn't like kids or anything, because he loves them, he was just annoyed that he just couldn't get a break. He was just hoping for a nice peaceful stroll but yet you can't really get those kind of things in The Realm anyways.
