“Meet me in my office, Now!” Dean bites out bitterly when we both walk out of the board room. He strides off angrily and I watch him nervously. I hadn’t ever once been nervous before but today… He hadn’t ever directed his anger towards me before, however everything has changed at this very moment. I look back at the others who walk out, Sasha smirks as she passes, I frown at Caitlyn who looks concerned.

“How did you mix up the files?” she asks softly.

“I don't know” I hiss out quietly, fearing Dean’s reaction. “I swear I had the right file”

“I don't know babe” she shakes her head. “Could you have been stressed or anything?” she questions. “Like forgotten it accidently?”

“I don't know how this has happened, but I swear I walked in with the right file, the only time I took my eyes off it was when I set the projector and laptop…” I trail off wondering could someone have swapped it to land me into trouble. “You don't think…”

“Whatever happened, we’ll see to it in a while. First go and see what Dean has to say”

“He’s so going to chew my head off” I mutter. “Why couldn’t he hit his head on something and remember me?” I pout.

“All will happen in good time, good luck” she squeezes my shoulder gently trying to reassure me but nothing could stop my pounding heartbeats.

“Come in!” Dean calls out, I shudder inwardly and slowly open the door.

“Faster, I don't have time!” he snaps when I walk in slowly and hesitantly.

I stop on the opposite side of the desk fiddling with my fingers, twiddling them hoping to calm myself.

“Sit down” he points and I oblige quickly not wanting to anger him even more.

“You Miss Williams made me look like a fool in front of the clients!” he states sharply, his chocolate brown eyes darken to an almost black colour. “I expect nothing but the best and I did tell you to be prepared. How could you have brought a completely different file?” He stands up splaying his fingers on the desk as he looks down at me with his narrowed eyes.

“Please let me explain…” I try to speak but he instantly cuts me off with his hand.

“Enough! I expect a full apology written to the clients. And I want you hand in your resignation letter” he states.

“What?” I stand up completely taken back by his words. He couldn’t. He wouldn’t.

“You heard me” he replies seriously.

“You can't do this” I mutter shaking my head. “Mr Carter I swear I took the right file, I think someone swapped it…”

“Miss Williams I have nothing else to discuss, type both letters and have it on my desk”

“This is unfair, without any proof you can't just…”

“Don't forget I’m the boss here” he cuts me off.

“It’s still unfair Mr Carter, you can't just fire me. Especially for one mistake, One mistake that I didn’t do” I reply back defensively.

“I don't think you heard me properly”

“I heard you all right” I cross my arms before me. “I deserve a second chance, even IF I have made this mistake, I deserve a chance to put it right”

“One hour! You have one hour to gain back the client’s trust and pray you convince them that we are going to be the best deal they’ll ever make”
