I was not at all interested in the food that I’d ordered, so I played with the food instead pushing the vegetables to one side and the meat to the other mindlessly, the conversation with Caitlyn and the confrontation with Dean was playing in my mind over and over.
Should I be more understanding in the matter of Dean? I think inwardly, I was trying my damn hardest adjusting to the fact he’d forgotten me but his attitude towards me was not bearable at all. He was treating me differently compared to his other employees, there was a level of understanding between them but with me… he was different and ready to grate me when something went wrong.
“You all full? Or would you like dessert?” Matt questions looking around all of us, everyone shakes their head in the negative feeling satisfied obviously. I don't bother because I am still hungry since I hadn’t ate and played with my food, but then I couldn’t even stomach the food because I am currently fighting with my inner thoughts.
I push the chair back putting a couple of notes and excuse myself, I walk out of the French restaurant we’d come to and climb down the steps that lead to the beach.
A walk right now sounded perfect, the sun was setting, the cool breeze felt good on my skin, my hair flew back dancing along with the winds.
“You forgot this?”
I turn my head surprised hearing dean’s voice, I look down to what he was holding out. My jacket. “Thank you” I reply softly taking it from him and slip into it.
“Why have you followed me here?” I question him when he walked alongside me.
“To give you your jacket…”
“And you have? Why are you now following me?” I stop and turn to face him.
He stares at me for a moment then sighs heavily. “I’m sorry” he apologizes stunning me. “I didn’t realize my attitude towards you was being misread” He shrugged nonchalantly. “I didn’t mean to show I hate you or anything and I definitely didn’t mean to treat you differently from the others” he explains. “That was never my intention Miss Williams”
“We’re not in the office” I whisper back, I could keep a grudge but him just apologizing and having realized his mistake was enough for me, glimpses of my husband was there.
I look away feeling my eyes stinging with tears.
“Anyways I’ll see you around” he mutters slowly retreating back, I turn and watch as he walks away, I pull my jacket around me closer feeling cold suddenly.
I walk back to the villa once the sun was completely down, when I step inside I find the others dressed to go out and party.
“You coming?” Stacy questions as she slips into her stilettos. “We’ll wait”
“No it’s fine. I’m going to turn in early tonight” I reply back, I also notice Dean isn’t with them and look around hoping to catch a glimpse of him. I retire to my room once they’ve left and change into my cotton sleepshirt and boy shorts.
My stomach rumbled just as I was about to climb into bed but then I couldn’t sleep feeling hungry, I’d barely been able to stomach dinner before and with the walk I went on worked up an appetite. I walk out stopping by the door way just before the kitchen seeing Dean stood in only draw string pyjama bottoms hung low on his hips showing off the tanned v of his hips that I so very much loved. I press my legs together dulling the ache that arose trying to look straight faced normal which I hope I pulled off, I did not want to be looking flustered and aroused.
