- The Moment -
As night fell I still couldn't help but dwell on the thought of her. Her green meshy fabric that held her perfect form. I knew I wouldn't be able to continue to live like this. I wanted to meet her formally.
I lay in my bed wasting my time away with youtube all afternoon. The thought of her still wouldn't let me rest. The blue sky was now painted with oranges and pinks. The gentle clouds of cotton slowly sailing through the sky turned to pink as the sun lowered below the mountains in the distance from my suburban home. A quiet afternoon shifting to night.
The crickets chirped outside as the cold night tried to penetrate through my window in the gentle breeze. I closed my window sealing the latch with a loud click. And got under my bed covers back into my warm sleeve of haven. So soft and comfortable. I heard my parents close their door. It was time to sleep. The entire house now a veil of darkness. Everything in danger without sight but also safe without being seen. My moment had arrived. with socks on to mute my footsteps I crept down the hallway and into the kitchen. Dark shapes threatened to move.
"Kale what are you up to?" came a whispering raspy voice from behind.
In shock and panic adrenaline fuelled my every movement and I fell to the cold tile floor.
"MUM!...nothing" I replied to fast to seem unsuspicious.
"was getting a drink of water!" I passionately spoke as I scrambled to my feet.
"ok but turn the light on, don't be so weird" She said as she flicked the kitchen light on.She walked back to her room and I continued on my mission. I opened the cupboard and I saw it.
