A/N - Google may be required in some situations, just saying. A small update from me (yay). Please enjoy, bye for now~
The remaining five stand in a line with the ring once more. The crowd is now excited, the end will come soon and the winner will be recognised. In the corner of my eye I see the commander, staring at the unknown. Who knows what that guy is thinking? Wait, could he possible be here to see our skills? What if he's after the winner? If that is true then someone out of us five are going to disappear tonight, the winner I presume. I want to win, but I don't know what will happen. Do I pretend to be defeated? That seems like the best option, I will still put a fight but will lose none the less. "Folks the third and final stage will now begin. You see there are five competitors left so pairing can't be done, but we are going to do something much better. A battle royal." Cheers increase by a substantial amount making it impossible to hear Erwin. He makes several gestures to the crowd, signalling for them to calm down.
My eyes keep fixated on the rope in front of me whilst my mind wonders, doing this makes my mind feel blank, it is actually quite soothing for me in loud moments like this one. In this state I can be in my own world but also can go back to reality, part of my mind pays attention to what's going around and the other does nothing else. My thoughts are broken by Erwin's voice.
"Competitors, take your position in the ring and get ready."
The five of us walk to different points in the ring, my back is to the crowd, I feel eyes burn into my flesh, I don't know why or who they belong to. I hear the blurred chanting of names and a countdown is taking place, all seem to distant for my mind to process it to the full extent. I see opponents that wield daggers, axes, dual swords and a moplah.I hear the number seven in the background. I study my opponents, they all have their specialties it's seems, whether it be agility, intelligence or strength. Six. The grips on their weapons tighten, the young man with daggers taunts the other men, carelessly throwing the knives in the air then catching them. Five. I look at all their faces, once again the dagger wielder has my attention, I haven't seen him in town before. Four. I feel the gaze in my back grow fiercer, I make eye contact with dagger. Three. In the corner of my eye I see the other competitors study me now, eye contact with dagger hasn't been broken, his eyes now are serious from their usual taunting way. Two. I take a breath, I ready myself. I nod at dagger, he knows he has gotten my interest now. One. I tighten my grip on my long sword, I look at my opponents once again, I am their target.
