Everything is blurry, I can tell I'm in the back of a Vehicle and I can hear some people talking. We are pulling in to some sort of gated place, then I feel a huge pain as I am lifted up. I wake up again and am on a table, my torso is wrapped up. "I see you have finally woken up, please take a moment to gather your thoughts."
"Wh-where am I."
"We found you on the side of the road, you were very hurt and we're coughing up blood, after closer analysis we found you were suffering from internal bleeding and broken ribs. I did my best to help you but it's best you rest a bit and keep up your strength." I notice he didn't really answer my question. I try to stand up but the pain is too much to bare. I hunch over in pain.
"Please don't try and push yourself, let me get you back up onto the table." He lifts me up and places me back. "I'll give you the grand tour after you feel better but for now we gotta closely monitor you." Why the hell would Max and Patrick just leave. I need to get back home to Julia, what if they leave without me. So many thoughts are running through my head.
"Demetrius, we need you for something."
"Oh yeah, what do you need me for?" This doctor guy Demetrius, he's got a slightly darker skin tone than I do and short brown hair. He also seems to be a bit bulky and wears a medical coat with the arms ripped off. Him leaving puts me alone on this dark room. I scan my surroundings and see lots of surgical supplies everywhere. I got to stand up and hold my stomach, the searing pain shoots through my body. I take a few minutes to myself when I hear the door open up again. Demetrius comes back but this time he's with two people. "Is he dangerous Demetrius." A man with slicked back black hair steps forward. He is holding a machine gun looks to be an m16 and is wearing sunglasses. "I haven't spent much time with him Marcus but he doesn't seem to be dangerous."
"Good because she wants to meet him."
"Take him with you Marcus, I have some cleaning up to do." Next thing I know the other guy who came in the room with Marcus and Demetrius helps me to my feet.
"Come on new guy, you gotta meet her." I silently nod and agree. I'm kind of cautious about this place, they did take me in and patch me up but you can never be too careful nowadays. As I follow Marcus through town with the other person standing behind me. This place is designed like an old marketplace. Almost like a maze to walk through, there's gotta be at least 150 people in this community, I wonder how they manage so well. We eventually make it to this big golden building, this must have been painted pre apocalypse. "Alright, she is right in here, if you try anything we will be forced to put you down." I look back at Marcus who is ushering me inside. I open the door and see lots of Greek architecture. There are paintings of Medusa all over the wall and golden pillars going up and down, this place is huge. "Welcome newcomer to our community, please take a seat and tell me about yourself." I walk through this place amazed, it almost looks like an entirely redesigned church on the inside. There are many different red seats but the rest of it is all Greek. I sit down in the chair closest to her. She sits on a little stage in a huge chair, behind her are golden snake statues and a cage very obviously made for a snake. "Um, he- hello, my name is Dylan" I say very nervously. "Hello Dylan, my name is Emily but everyone calls me Medusa." She has long green dyed hair and she wears a long white dress. "I'd like to say I'm um than-" she thankfully cuts me off as I stutter. "Please Dylan relax we aren't gonna hurt you, just tell us how you got around here." I take a deep breath and try to tell her how I ended up here as calmly as possible. "Our group and I were going on a supply run, things were running low and we had an injured man in our group. Things went bad, I got injured and barely made it out of where we were at. Needless to say the last thing I remember was passing out in the middle of the street and waking up here."
"Sounds like you've had a rough time, we'd love to have you around here if you'd be interested in staying?"
"I can't stay, my sister is back with my group and I need to get back to her." She looks down for a brief minute and looks back up. "Where were you guys hold up?"
"It was a beachouse, about a days drive south from here, I'd be able to give you directions if we were on the road." She looks at me with worried eyes. "What is it?" I say with a worried expression on my face.
"We can't go that way for a while."
"What why can't we, I need to get back."
"Because Dylan you don't understand, there are thousands of them between us and that beach house."
