April: Turks and CaicosI was dreading today when my baby girl, my only child would marry my best friend.
I was surprised when Rhyne confessed his love for my daughter only a few weeks ago and while it was hard for me to let her grow up and be with a man 17 years her senior, the truth was Rhyne was a good man for her and she was good woman for him.
She had tamed the Rebel Billionaire turning him into a one woman man. And my friend was all the better for it. And in turn I watched him shower her with love and support. I'll admit it was hard at first their age gap gave me concerns, but I had never seen either so happy.
There was still a small bit of tension between Rhyne and I, but he was my brother from another mother. And this didn't change the love I had for them both.
They had decided on a beach wedding and I wore a white linen button down, tan pants and sandals. My hair could not be tamed and I let it do what it wished. I was beginning to pepper a sign 40 would be here sooner than I expected. I didn't feel old at 38 and I thought I looked pretty damn good too. After all they say age is just a number.
A knock at my hotel room door had me halting my assessment at my aging. I opened the door and Elizabeth Miller was standing on the other side.
"Hey Dr. King, I'm supposed to get you for some pictures" she smiled. Her long blonde hair was down falling in loose curls. Her head was crowned with halo of small yellow flowers. She was wearing a white linen dress. The thin straps of the dress sat on her shoulders and the top was tight across her full breasts before loosening into a light, flowing skirt.
Instead of traditional sandals she wore barefoot sandals or I guess the equivalent of foot jewelry. Her manicured toe was wrapped in diamonds and pearls that tied around her thin ankle.
I could not help the hardening of my body as I assessed her from head to manicured toe.
Damn Rhyne for suggesting her interest in me a couple months ago. He had messed with my mind. I had never looked at Elizabeth as anything other than Alexis' best friend. Well maybe a time or two. I had eyeballs. But after Rhyne slipped the thought into my brain I couldn't help but wonder what I had missed before or how. Elizabeth Miller was hotter than hell.
"Dr King? The pictures?" Elizabeth repeated almost nervously. She knocked me out of my thoughts and I shook my head hoping she didn't notice the tenting in the front of my pants.
I followed her down to the beach watching her ass move in the dress, hating myself for looking but unable to turn away. I met Rhyne and Parker for the pictures. Our outfits matched and we stood together making memories to take back home.
When the sun was just right we headed down to the beach for the ceremony.
And then I gave my daughter away to a good man.

Parker threw an amazing reception on the beach that was perfect for my Alexis. She was glowing in wedded bliss. Her light loose champagne colored dress flowed around her as she danced and drank the night away with her new husband.
I wished her mother could see her now, she would have been so proud of her. It didn't matter that we were both 17 when we had our Lex we loved her and each other.
When I woke the day after Alexis was born to find out that she was dead it tore me to pieces.
I hadn't had a relationship since. And it had been a few years since I had felt a woman's touch. Even then it was only a handful of one night stands nothing more.
My depressing thoughts had me heading to the bar for a drink. I was sad that she was leaving home and sad I would be alone when she was gone. I ordered a jack and coke and sipped it as I watched the guests dance.
Not wanting to be a Debbie downer on such a special day I took my whiskey and walked along the beach. In the distance along the waters edge, I saw someone else had snuck away and as I got closer I realized it was Elizabeth.
I should have turned away at the realization but curiosity and whiskey had me coming up next to her.
"What are you doing hiding from the festivities?" I asked. I expected her to be partying with her closest friend on her big day.
Startled she turned at my voice and looked me up and down as I came closer.
"Probably the same as you...I'm so happy for Lex and Rhyne but I guess I was feeling a little lonely tonight" she looked at me as if she could read my mind. Her beautiful green gaze made me feel vulnerable and I stood looking at her profile. I watched as her blonde hair and flowing dress swayed in the wind.
"A dance?" I asked. I took my drink and downed it in one gulp and set the now empty glass in the sand, offering her my hand.
Smiling up at me she placed her small cool hand in mine and I pulled her close.
Closer than was probably proper for a dad and his daughter's best friend. But her body felt good so close to mine. We began to move in a slow circle, music from the party could be heard faintly in the background.
My whiskey was giving me courage around this woman, and I couldn't help but stare.
"I'm happy for them too" I said "but my home is going to be a little emptier now. I'm getting old. I'm supposed to be lonely but Elizabeth you have plenty of time. You're young and beautiful and smart any man would be crazy not to throw themselves at you."
"Maybe Dr. King, but not the man I want." She looked up into my eyes, her green eyes glowed in the moonlight. Her heated gaze stirred my body and I knew she could feel me against her belly.
I wasn't thinking as I leaned down, my lips meeting hers kissing her softly at first.
Her hands went to my chest pulling me closer as I wrapped my arms around her back. It was like I was struck by lightning as I kissed her. Her kiss jolted my unused body awake. I used my tongue to ask permission for access.
She opened her mouth for me and I sucked her tongue enjoying the taste of her and whatever fruity cocktail that was still on her lips. I pulled her closer as I kissed her harder, running a hand through her softly curled hair.
Just as I moved my hand to cup her little ass I heard my name in the distance. I broke off the kiss, panting heavily.
I stared wide eyed at her and She looked back. Her face was ravishing with her swollen pink lips. Our breath came out ragged and the sound was erotic music to my ears. I couldn't help myself as I moved to kiss her again, but It was Parker, I think, calling my name again. The continued interruption slapped me backed into reality.
I turned without another word to Elizabeth and stomped back to the party. I spent the rest of that week avoiding her. Ashamed at taking advantage of her at my loneliness.
