I folded my clothes for tomorrow neatly on top of my suitcase. I was ready.

"Are you sure that you're ready for the trip, honey?" My mum yelled from downstairs just as I collapsed onto my bed.

"Yes, mum," I called back.

I was about to leave on a month-long road trip with my entire law class from my university, chaperoned by us and paid by us.  I had just finished packing and was ready to leave bright and early at 5:00 tomorrow morning, as we were going to arrive at around 7:30.

I had dinner as normal with my parents, and headed to bed early so I didn't feel too sick tomorrow.

I was woken by a loud beep from a car outside, and blearily looked out of the window to see my best friend Milly's blue sedan.

I got dressed in leggings and a hoodie, being quiet as to not wake up my parents. I didn't eat and raced outside with my luggage.

I was surprised to see Milly's boyfriend, Joel with her, who she had recently started dating.

"Hey, Joel! Last time I noticed, you don't have the same class as us," I joked.

He grinned and mumbled something about them not being able to e away from each other too long.

"Wow!" Milly said, turning around and looking at me, "How do you look so perfect at this time of day?"

"Just drive," I grinned, curling into a blanket and pulling my seatbelt across my lap.

I quickly went back to sleep and woke up two and a half hours later, when the car stopped at McDonald's for breakfast and Milly yelled at me to wake my ass up.

The first thing that I saw after walking in the door of the restaurant was the spawn of Satan himself, Damson Clarke. He was surrounded by a large group of people, but mostly the girls in my class who pretend that they know what's going on but they only take law just to look attractive.

Damon was the type of guy who would sit at the back of the lecture hall and flirt with girls instead of taking notes.

I elbowed Milly and pointed in his direction.
"You didn't tell me that the jerk was coming! You know that I hate him, and YOU organised this trip!"

"The entire class was invited, and 'the jerk' would not miss an opportunity to slide into a couple of beds for a month," she replied, dragging me and Joel into a booth.

After eating a classic breakfast of McMuffins while glaring at Damon, I went back out to the car, where we would drive for another half hour to get to our destination.

Milly had showed me pictures of a magnificent street of houses that we were to rent that was right on the large river.

Around 8:30, we got to the street and it was beautiful.

Perfectly groomed pot plants and gardens sat on modern verandas and the houses looked big and fancy.

Everyone was getting out of their cars and heading into the biggest house, chatting and laughing.

Joel and I sat down on one of the couches and waited. Since Milly organised this trip, she stood in front of us and addressed us all.

"There are too many of you to all have your seperate houses, or choose your own houses," she said, and everyone groaned.

"However," she continued, "I have figured out a way to sort everyone out fairly,"

We all listened for information that would help us cheat and go with our friends anyway.

"Each piece of paper in this box has an address on it. You pick a piece of paper and go to that house, and that is where you'll be staying. No exceptions."

People started muttering excitedly, and I was looking at Milly in horror as she sat on my couch.

"You're joking, what if I get with one of the pervs from our class, or HIIM?!"

"No exceptions," she winked at me and held out the box, "You go first,"

The torn piece of paper read: "42 Perkins road." Milly grinned an evil grin and I headed over to her car to grab my stuff.

Unluckily, number 42 looked like the smallest house on the road.
People were already drifting to other houses, and watching where everyone else was going.

The little balcony out the front of the house had a table and chairs. Through the glass door was a TV and a couch with blankets on it. A little bookshelf filled with cookbooks and a tiny plant sat to my left.

I walked in further and saw the big kitchen, and gave a little squeak of joy. I love cooking, and this kitchen was the biggest I had ever seen.

There was a small bathroom with a big shower, a little laundry and a big backyard that lead right into the bush land, with a barbecue and a little cubby house that looked out at the water.

I noticed a double bed sitting right next to the kitchen and hoped that my roommate wouldn't mind using it, since I hate being out in the open.

I approached the door to what must be the bedroom, before the door swung open and the most despicable specimen on Earth was revealed to me.

Damon.

Clarke.
