Chapter 3

I woke up the next morning late, but Damon still wasn't up. I decided to make breakfast.

I was frying eggs and bacon for myself  when the bedroom door opened and a shirtless Damon entered the room.

My eyes travelled down his body before I could stop myself.

What is WRONG with me-

His voice jolted me out of my trance.
"Since we didn't really get a proper introduction before, I'd like to introduce myself,"

Damon walked over to me and held out his hand, "I'm Damon."

I didn't shake his hand; who knows where that hand had been.

"I'm Bea," I snapped, devouring my seventh piece of bacon, "and yes, I know who you are."

I pointed at a plate that had a cold egg and a minuscule piece of bacon on it.
"That's yours,"

Damon stole one of my pieces of bacon.

"HEY!"

I pushed his bare shoulder and laughed as he stumbled backwards.

"Bitch," he muttered.

I ignored him and took his only piece of bacon.

Everyone met in the big house again, looking tired and disheveled. I don't think that anyone really got a good night's sleep.

Milly stood up the front, and seemed to be walking funny.

I bet that she and Joel got it on last night. How come that she could get them in the same house, but gets me stuck with Damon?

"This week is challenge week," she said, "here is your challenge for today: you must go down to the river and find the hidden items there. You clue is: jewellery. There is no transportation or mobile devices allowed."

Everyone started muttering again, apart from Damson and a random brunette girl who were making out.

Milly kept throwing irritated looks over at them, but I think that she was just angry that they weren't paying attention.

"And for teams, you will be teaming up with your roommate."

I groaned out loud and a couple of people stared at me.

I gave them the finger, glaring at Milly, who had just sat down next to me, grinning like a cat.
"I hate you so much," I muttered to her.

She pushed me on the shoulder and doubled up with laughter.

"I know that wall. You got it on last night, didn't you!" I attacked.

"What? Oh yeah..." she blushed, "you caught me,"

Something seemed a little bit off, but I didn't press further.

A hand fell on my shoulder and I turned to see Damon. I pulled his hand off me.
"I guess we're going to the river, princess," he grinned.

His smile is so cute-

Wait, what?

I cringed at the annoying pet name.

"Don't call me that ever again unless you want a broken nose," I seethed, standing up and pushing him away, "I'm only here because Milly organised this trip!"

"Yeah, sure," he said, looking a little distracted at something behind me.

I turned and Milly quickly stopped making desperate hand motions in his direction. I made a mental note to ask her about it later.

I grabbed my bag, sunglasses and any other items that I needed while Damon took a phone call in his room.

I was heading out of the door when a voice called behind me; "Wait for me, princess!"

I clenched my hands into fists and headed down towards the river.

The surface sparkled in the sunlight, making me squint even with my sunglasses on. There were people there already, digging through sand and checking trees, all in the shadow of the big bridge.

I walked onto the dock and scanned the wooden planks for Andy sign of jewels.
Nothing.
I scanned the surface of the river, where some multi-coloured buoys bobbed up and down-

A glint of diamonds caught the light.

There was a necklace attached to one of the buoys, about twenty meters from the river bank.

How am I going to get...?

Somebody pushed past me and dove into the river, tanned muscles shining in the sunlight. They swan through the water with ease, and climbed out of the river while everyone watched.

In a matter of seconds, the necklace was in my hands and Damon was shaking the water out of his eyes as he walked to the shore.
"I think that we won this challenge,"

"No shit, Sherlock," I muttered.
