Chapter Three

Dinner time! I shouted in my mind. Tumigil na ang pag-ikot ng blender and there's just silence between us. Sasagutin ko ba? Nakakahiya.

Technically, hindi naman talaga ako ang nagchat sa kanya dahil si Carlene 'yon, but what does he know? Wala naman siya sa kwarto ko habang pilit na nakikialam si Carlene sa love life ko.

Sasagutin ko na nga. Just to clear things out. And save my ego.

"I told you, si Carlene 'yon." My hands won't steady, natatapon na ang ilang juice sa countertop. I wriggled and pressed my palm slightly. "'Yung best friend ko."

"Nasabi mo nga. Pero paano niya naisipang ichat ako?" Now he's giving me the scrutinizing look.

Should I be honest? I mean, wala naman sigurong mawawala if I'll be honest kahit ngayon lang. Besides, we're not even friends. At least for me. Walang risk dito. And this is just a casual flirt. Yes, Jaja, casual flirt lang.

"I kinda stalked you." I sighed.

"Ano?" Then he started laughing. "Stalker kita?"

"Kapal mo naman, interesado lang ako."

"Now you're interested." Then he looked so amused. Can I just say na ang ganda ng ngiti niya kapag hindi pilit? Lakas maka-gwapo tapos Gavin pa pangalan niya. Yummers!

"Oh shut up. It's normal, bagong friends ng friends ko, so I will stalk you."

"Sure ka?" He joked. "Hindi naman yata normal 'yon kasi kung curious ka dapat doon pa lang sa party kinausap mo na 'ko."

I rolled my eyes. "Late bloomer."

"Late bloomer my ass." He laughed hard saka ako iniwan sa kusina. Then Coln went inside with a confused face.

"Problema n'on?" He asked me. Nag-shrug lang ako at tinapos na ang paggawa ng milkshakes. I'm starting to get hungry, I just want to eat until my gut pops.

By six-thirty everyone settled sa mahabang dining table to get our tummies filled up. They were excited to eat until they saw what's on the table. Veggies, vegetables, and gulay.

"Hindi ako informed na vegan na pala tayo." Dani said who's obviously disappointed. Coln and I just laughed.

"Masarap naman 'yan." Coln said kahit na siya mismo'y hindi rin naman nakain ng gulay. Girard started to scoop rice and veggies on his plate.

"Masarap." He said after his first chew. "Masarap guys, kumain na kayo."

Sumunod na rin ako at ang iba at kumain na lang ng tahimik. Obviously, no one's enjoying the food, kahit naman ako. Veggies' just ain't for the squad. Maybe we'll try to walk or magpa-deliver na lang tomorrow. At least there's an unhealthy desert to look forward to, diba. Dinner's not so bad at all.

After we finished, si Dani at Alea na ang nagvolunteer na maghugas ng mga plato while I decided to take a shower. Dala ko lang ang towel and some essentials sa loob ng malaking banyo. There's a bathtub sa gilid and a shower room on the other side, in front of the shower area is a long sink with a not-so-long mirror with some boujie lights and scented candles on the side.

This house literally screams wealth everywhere.

I wasn't really surprised na may heater akong nakita. I just set the temperature to luke-warm and splurged in. Nagsasabon na ako ng katawan nang marinig kong bumukas ang pinto. Baka si Alea.

Hindi ko alam bakit parang ang sarap sa feeling kapag naliligo ka sa ibang bahay. Feeling ko ang linis-linis ko na. After rinsing off, I draped the towel and went outside only to find Gavin na nagt-toothbrush sa sink.
