Chapter Seven
The Witch

ANNABELL
I SAT at the table in my throne room; overlooking my plans when a familiar shiver ran down my spine. My hand released the parchment I was holding as I felt my whole body freeze. I haven't felt that shiver in a long time. A very long time.
I shot up from my chair and rushed out of the room and to the main open area where I found Peter overlooking weapons being made. As I made my way towards him, I crashed into Edmund who was always rushing towards Peter. "Did you feel it too?" Edmund asked me with wide eyes.
My head nodded quickly before I quickly gripped his arm and pulled him towards Peter. "Peter," I cried out causing him to look up at Edmund and me.
"Something's wrong," was all I told him before my eyes looked around the room to see someone was missing.
"Where's Caspian?" I asked which caused us to freeze before we rushed towards the Stone Table with Lucy and Trumpkin following after us.
When we entered the Stone Table room, I could feel the shiver down my spine intensify. "Stop!" Peter yelled once we had fully entered the room.
I froze in my place at the sight of the White Witch within a wall of ice with Caspian standing in front of her with his hand held out towards her. It was like seeing a ghost.
I forced myself to unfreeze as I rushed towards one of the hags whilst Peter took care of the other. As it tried to take a swipe at my head, I slide to the floor and use my leg to knock it off its feet. I kicked myself up and twirled around to use my foot to kick the hag across the face. I removed my dagger from my boot but when I went to stab the hag in the chest, its head butted against mine causing me to stumble and allowing the hag to get back onto its feet. I let out a groan before I kicked the hag in the chest then I swung my arm around to pierce my dagger through the hag's neck. I removed the dagger and watched the hag fall to the ground with a large pool of blood forming quickly under it.
"Get away from him!" A cry from Peter caused me to look towards the ice wall to see he had knocked Caspian off his feet with his sword pointing towards the Witch.
The Witch pulled her hand back into the ice wall and gave Peter a sickly-sweet smile. "Peter dear...I have missed you. Come, just one drop," she spoke to him as her hand reached through the ice again.
I looked over at Edmund who had raised to his feet after defeating the werewolf and nodded towards the ice wall. Edmund nodded back as he understood my signal and rushed behind the ice wall. "You know you can't do this alone," The Witch's smile turned into an evil grin as she spoke.
I saw Peter begin to hesitate and he lowered his sword. My eyes blinked in disbelief and I stepped forward to speak sense into him. But I didn't have to as a sword pierced through the Witch and caused the ice wall to shatter. When the ice fell, it revealed Edmund was the one who had shattered the ice wall. I let out a sigh of relief that Edmund got my signal.
"I know. You had it sorted," Edmund glared at his brother before walking away.
Peter and Caspian looked at the craving of Aslan that had been hidden by the ice wall. Peter looked over at me which made my eyes narrow at him. I shook my head and once Edmund walked up to me, we walked out of the room together.
"Are you okay?" I asked him after a few moments of silence.
Edmund gave a small smile and nodded his head. He went to walk away from me, but I placed my hand on his shoulder to prevent him from leaving. "Ed, you know you can talk to me," I informed him with a small smile.
Edmund suddenly pulled me into a tight hug which surprised me. "I've missed you, Anna," he told me which made my eyes water.
I reciprocated his hug as I closed my eyes, feeling a tear drip down my cheek. "I've missed you too," I responded back as I tightened my hold on my brother-in-law.
During our reign, I was closest to Edmund besides Peter of course. I helped him with his guilt about helping the White Witch. It was hard for him to work through the guilt which plagued him for years. I knew him seeing her would bring forward a lot of emotions for him. This moment made me feel like the last 1300 years hadn't happened. I felt...like me again.
