Preface

I stared at my plate, which only had crumbs left, then turned my gaze to Molly, my best friends bagel. I licked my lips; it must be a habit that had formed over the years.

She talked on, with me not even paying attention in the slightest. I was more interested in eating her bagel. Harsh, I know... she had to put up with my food frenzy behaviour.

"But your life isn't that boring, surely, you have a great best friend and other good friends, you have a pretty perfect life, so why and how could your life be possibly boring? Honestly Summer- ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME?!" she cut through her own sentence.

"Are you going to eat your bagel?" I asked eyeing the bagel, then her. She sighed.

"Summer, you really have to control your food hormones, honest to god, you have already eaten two bagels and a hedgehog slice then had a huge milkshake as well, what is wrong with you child?" she demanded. I ignored her and gave her my best puppy dog look.

"Pleaassseeeeee Mooollyyyy." I drawled begging her.

She rolled her eyes. "Fine." She stated shoving the plate towards me. I grabbed the bagel and stuff the whole thing in my mouth.

"Thlaankss." I mumbled through my mouthful.

"Summer, that's gross; you're a lady, not a guy, so please act like one." She scolded eyeing my mouthful warily.

"And your my best friend, not my mother," I responded swallowing the last of the bagel.

She opened her mouth to say a comeback, but couldn't think of one, so she just closed it back up and crossed her arms. I chuckled.

"As I was saying," she continued on with her speech. I shouldn't have brought it up in the first place.

"Your life is great, perfect, you are a beautiful slim young lady with gorgeous blonde hair that is slightly wavy and flows down your back like a waterfall, you have nice soft brown eyes-"

"Like CHOCOLATE CAKE!" I yelled enthusiastically, getting a few stares from people around me.

Molly rolled her eyes. "Yes, like chocolate cake. You have a great, funny personality, even though you have an obsession with eating food, your rich- what more could you ask for?" her gaze penetrated mine and I pretended to think about it but my mind drifted off to thinking about chocolate cake and I instantly stood up.

"Hey- where are you going?" she asked scowling at me.

"To get some chocolate cake of course," I shrugged my shoulders and started walking backwards, let's just say I was a little excited about that chocolate cake.

Molly opened her mouth staring at me in disbelief.

"You are so weird." She commented, quickly shutting her mouth.

"Am not," I responded, taking another step backwards.

"Are too."

"Not." I responded while poking my tongue out.

She rolled her eyes. "This conversation can resume when I am back with my cake, hold on a tick." I said as I turned on my heel and skipped over to the cafe counter.

I gazed in at all the food, drooling. I promptly wiped my mouth with the back of my hand and my eyes locked with the chocolate mud cake. On top of the icing were little swirls of white chocolate and milk chocolate. I think I was positive I drooled some more, maybe inconspicuously.

"May I take your order ma'am?" A husky voice asked.

I turned my gaze to the guy, he looking about my age, maybe older and he was on the more cute side of things. He had curly brown hair and green eyes and a nice smile, but all I could really notice was him checking me out, his eyes stopping at inappropriate places more than once, pervert.

To gain the satisfaction I needed I purposely looked at him them my eyes trailed all the way down to his crotch, then up to see him blushing furiously. I almost snorted.

"Yes, can I please have that chocolate cake?" I told him innocently, pointing at the cake.

He simply nodded and bent down to retrieve my delicious cake.

"Eat in or take away?" he asked, not daring to look at me.

I laughed. "Eat in," I responded simply.

He placed the cake on a plate and pushed it towards me.

"Enjoy." He mumbled before going to another customer.

Well, that was fun. I grabbed the plate and headed back to our table, where Molly was texting someone. As soon as she saw me approach she put her phone away and raised an eyebrow.

"Hitting on the cafe boy are we?" she asked curiously.

"I wouldn't call it that at all; you know what boys are like." I said before shoving some of the cake into my mouth. My mouth watered with pleasure, it was so moist and yummy that I was positive I might die any second.

"Mmmm..." I murmured closing my eyes for a second to enjoy.

Once I had swallowed and decided it was best to resume our conversation and talk to Molly about what I meant to make her understand things better.

"What I meant about that subject earlier is that my life is boring. The same usually stuff happens every day, I want to have a fun life, one worth living for, one filled with all types of tasks. Really I want to live life to the fullest and so far I'm failing." With that I stuffed the rest of the chocolate cake into my mouth, smiling weakly at Molly's shocked expression.

I guess she thought I had gone mad, maybe I was going mad, that's why I needed to get out of my protective shell of wealth and do something beyond the ordinary. I needed to find adventure.

+*+*+*+

New story idea, hope you all like it. Trust me; this prologue took a while to write. But this gives you an insight of what's to come, in some ways. Lots of adventure, thrilling action and most importantly, FOOD!

Gosh, I love food; I guess I'm a bit like Summer in a way when it comes to food, just not as food crazy as her.

The first chapter will introduce Justin, I say no more.
