Chapter 5: Feelings

*Ashley's POV*
"I like you Ash. I like you a lot," Pony said sheepishly, digging his shoes into the dirt.

Oh my gosh, did I hear him right? I thought, my face turning pink.

"Really?" I asked, and Pony looked up at me just as flushed as I was.

"Yeah, really. I've liked you since we were 12," he said, looking into my eyes.

"Pony, I don't know what to say," I said, rubbing my arm.

"Say yes, be my girl," he said, grabbing my hand. His fingers intertwined with mine, and I just couldn't say no to him.

"Yes, I'll be your girl," I said, grinning back at him. I put my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly.

"You. Little. Skank," a bone chilling whisper came from behind us. I saw Pony's eyes widen, then shrink in anger.

"Whaddya want Dally?" Pony asked, still holding me close.

Dally just laughed and said, "Your girl."
That was enough for Pony, he jumped up and raised his fists.

"Pony, stop! It's not worth it!" I cried, looking back and forth at both of them.

"Heh, you may be a skank, but your smart," Dally said smirking at me.

"C'mon Pony, let's get out of here," I said, standing up and grabbing his hand. We started walking towards the house, and Dally surprisingly didn't follow. I let out a big sigh and dropped my head on Pony's shoulder.

"What's wrong Ash?" he asked.

"Hmm? Oh nothing.." I said, not looking him in the eye.

"Something is, I can tell when you're lying, y'know?" he said. Dammit, I thought I'd be able to fool him.

"Well, it's just that I'm afraid, not of Dally, but the stuff he says and does. I know he's not as bad as those dumb ass Socs, but I still get freaked," I said, gripping his hand tighter.

"I know Ash, it scares the whole gang. Dally could easily do almost whatever he wants," he said, as we walked up the way to the house. When we walked in, everybody turned and looked at us.

"Oooh, Pony! Look who's got a girl!" Two Bit said from in front of the tv. My face went red, and so did Pony's.

"Wait, are you two..?" Soda said, pointing at us.

"Yup," Pony said, popping the p, and giving me a smile.

"Go Pony!"
"Go Ash!" There were more catcalls and whistles as Pony and me sat down on the couch. I put my head on his shoulder, and he put his arm around my waist. I smiled at him, and he kissed the tip of my nose.

*Ponyboy's POV*
When Ashley said she'd be my girl, I thought I'd been dreaming. But when Dally showed up, I would've punched him right in the face. I know he would've beat real bad, but if he really thinks he can steal my girl that easily, he's wrong.
