Ainsleys POV
The sun beams into my room completely filling the room with its strong rays. I slowly get out of my bed as I head towards my bathroom. I look in the mirror, my brown hair is in knots and my hazel eyes are dim and sit on dark bags.
I grab my brush and slowly comb it through my hair. I brush my teeth before heading back into my room. I shuffle through my drawers and pick a pair of black sweats and a tight white t-shirt.
I head down stairs my feet pattering down the cold steps. It was early, the house was silent and I head into the kitchen. I am greeted by the back of my shirtless alpha.
"Hey Zach" he jumps slightly and turns but soon relaxes as he sees its me. I reach into a drawer and pull out a k-cup. I pop it into the Keurig. I look at Zach as he makes some eggs on the stove.
"Hey Ains how are you?" He questions groggily.
"I am okay. Sore from yesterday's training." Zach pushed us really hard yesterday. And being one of the top fighters I was in charge of a small group. I had to show them exactly how hard I expect them to work.
"Well today we have a meeting at 11 then we will return to training as usual" I look at him with confusion written all over my face.
"That's a pretty last minute meeting isn't it?" I ask as I sip my black coffee.
"Yeah but it's important. We are meeting with another pack and there fighters. We will discuss how we can use each other packs for training, as fighting members of our own pack has become repetitive and we need to change things up." He says as he turns off the stove and places the eggs on two plates. Handing me one.
I thank him and head over to the island where I sit across from Zach who is standing as he slowly eats his eggs.
"Okay I will be there but I am gonna go on a run first. Mind link me when the arrive!" I say as I put my dish in the sink and clean it before placing it back in the cupboard.
I head back upstairs and change into a tank top and spandex as I grab and hair tie and head out back. I approach the edge of the woods and strip my clothes and place them at the base of a tree. I quickly shift into my wolf and shake my head lightly.
My wolf loves to run. I am 5'4 so my wolf is small. She is very strong though and is the reason I am able to heal people. Ever since I can remember I was able to mask my scent and heal others quickly. I also heal extremely fast compared to normal wolves.
My tan fur blows back in the wind as I quickly swerve in and out of trees. Since we are so small I can run super fast and am light on my feet so not many people hear me coming.
I run to my favorite spot which is near the edge of our territory. A beautiful river roars past me and I lay down admiring the water. The load sound makes every other sound disappear. I am finally able to take a breath and relax.
I train a lot. Zach always says how important it is for me to stay focused and to never lose strength because right now I am extremely strong.
The water continues to rush past me. When I hear a loud snap across the other side of the river. I stand up and perk my ears to see if I could hear anything else.
A small wolf. Even smaller than me. Walks around the front of the tree and stays low to the ground. The wolf looks at the water and admires it like I was just doing. I move slightly which catches the wolf's attention.
The wolf backs up into a tree and stairs at me intensely. I mindlink the wolf.
Who are you?
Umm...I um I'm Theo he says in a hushed tone.
He looked so scared of me. Even though I am on the complete other side of the river. Yes I could jump over it but I wasn't going to. I would have been entering another territory.
I'm Ainsley nice to meet you Theo. How old are you? I ask trying to sound as kind as I can.
13 he says still slowly sinking back into the tree.
Okay Theo. Well I will be leaving now. Go back to your family okay. It's not safe on the edge of our territories.
He nods his small head and turns to head back where he can from. I sit back down continuing to look at the river. My eyes wonder to the sky as I watch dark clouds head towards me.
I slowly get up and turn to head back. I am about four miles from the pack house and slowly walk back considering I haven't been mind linked yet.
I am about a mile in and the rain starts to pound hard on the ground. I still walk because I enjoy the rain.
Ainsley the meeting just started where the hell are you? Zach says furiously.
Zach I told you to tell me before the meeting started. I say as I pick up my pace into a run.
Just get here we are waiting on you!
