I continue to drink as I walk around talking to some pack members. I noticed there are more people here than usual but I just brush it off as the drunkenness takes over.

I find Melissa who is hanging on some guy I didn't recognize. "Heyyy" she slurs. She looks at the guy as they both put their attention on me. "Ains this is ash he's from the pack that was here earlier". "Hi nice to meet you" I say as I reach my hand out. He shakes it roughly and says hi in return.

He was an attractive guy. He has blonde hair that is short and deep brown eyes that could hypnotize anyone. I see why Melissa chose him to be her next victim. I shake my head smiling and dismiss myself.

I went to the kitchen and grabbed another drink. I head out back to sit on our porch to get some air. There are a few couples making out in the back yard. Some getting really heated. I just sit there looking around and drinking my beer quickly. I was starting to get really drunk.

I stand and slowly walk towards the garden tripping over my feet. I finish my cup and just drop it on the ground knowing I will have to clean all this mess up tomorrow. I drag my hands across the flowers that were on either side of me. I slipped and my knees were covered in mod. I roll my eyes and stand up brushing them off.

'Damn I didn't think I was that drunk' just saying those words to myself I knew immediately I was wasted. I only contradict myself when I am drunk. I sigh as I find a bench and plop my ass on it.

I body feels numb and my legs begin to shake. They last beer was finally hitting. My breathing slows as I lean back and look up at the sky. It was beautiful. The stars glisten and the moon illuminates the sky. I breath in the air that still smells like rain and... uh pine cones and almonds.

Shit it's his pack that's here. I knew I recognized a few of them I guess it was from training today. My heart clenches as my wolf starts to purr. 'Will you plz control yourself. He doesn't want us anyway' I say.

You know he cares about us. We are his mate.

She practically screams at me. I just roll my eyes and decide to go back inside to find James. I open the backdoor and am instantly hit with the loud music and talking. I squeeze my way through people, weaving in and out. I spot zach.

"Hey have you seen James" I slur as I loose my balance. Zach catches me in a swift motion. He laughed " Ains damn you are drunk. I could smell the beer off of you a mile away." "Hey don't be rude. You said it yourself you love it when I let my guard down. Well this is me doing that." I stand up straight letting go of his arm. "I saw James in the living room". I thank him and head there.

I search the crowd and finally see him. He is talking with max. I guess betas always stick together. I laugh at my thought as I reach them. I could feel the tension in the air and just looked at them confused.

"Hey James. Are you guys alright?" Max looks away from James with anger written all over his face. James looks at me with sad eyes and says "yeah we are fine Ains. Where have you been. I tried to find you earlier".

"Oh sorry I was outside." I state still slurring my words. He looks at me concerned "wtf Ains are you drunk?" I give him a duh look and he looks at me with a smile and shook his head slightly. "Wow I didn't know miss hard Ainsley could get drunk" he says with a smug look. I just roll my eyes and look at max.

"Hey what's up my man" I say punching him in the arm. He finally gets rid of that angry look and just smiles. "Well I am hoping to be in the same state as you so I am drinking my ass off" I look at him with excitement. "Ah ha that's what I am talking about someone who speaks my own language" we both laugh as the three of us continue conversations. The tension still clear between the two.
