It was way past midnight, when Meera returned to her room. She was ready to fall on her bed and pass out. Gul and Hania had helped her undress.

Gul has brought in a soft cotton white Anarkali for her to sleep in. Meera had never in her life worn anything other than her traditional clothes, but this new dress was great, it was so comfortable and soft.

She untangled her braid and combed her hair sitting on her dressing chair, a corner she had come to love in merely a day.

"Salam Badesha." She heard Gul and Hania's voice and she turned her neck around to see her worst nightmare coming standing in front of her.

"You both can go and rest in your rooms, it's late already." He said smiling at the two maids who giggled silently.
"Also ask the bodyguard to go downstairs, to the third floor and stand by the entry of the stairs I don't want anyone here today."

"Yes Badesha." Gul said and both of them hurried down giggling.

Haider turned around to look at his wife, he looked at her properly for the first time, taking her in.
She was beautiful there was no denying it. Her dark brown almost black eyes showed fear, panic, like a doe standing in front of a lion.

Her lips were parted, trying to maximise the air intake because breathing in the same room as him was becoming difficult.

He could see sweat glistening on her forehead in the candle light.

He loved that his presence affected her so much, he loved that she feared him.

He walked slowly towards her like a predator to its prey. For every step he took forward she took one back till her back touched the footboard of the bed.

She looked at him with fear, although she wanted to pretend to be strong and fierce she couldn't mask her true feelings.

"What...What are you doing here ?" She asked.

"What do you think." Haider smirked.

"Go back, go back to your room, leave."

"Go back ? But my dearest wife, have you forgotten it's our first night as husband and wife, well not our first but our first night here back home." He smirked down at her walking closer to her trapping her between the footboard and his body.

"Please !" She whispered, her breath fanning his neck.

He could see her chest rising and falling, she looked up at him in fear, pleading with her eyes.
Haider couldn't deny the attraction he felt, he wanted her body, right then and there. He wanted to ravage her, feel every inch of her delicate skin against his own, he wanted to use her until the throbbing in his pant stopped and until the fire in his heart died.

He stood too close to her for her liking, she believed there wasn't enough space for air to pass, she looked at him begging him to step back but she couldn't see a trace of mercy in his eyes all she saw in his green orbs were a whirlwind of desire.

Meera was scared, the most scared she has ever been, her heartbeat had doubled, her palms were sweating, her lips went dry. She clentched her fist around her sides and bit her lips in nervousness. She prayed to all her gods to get her out of here.

Meera closed her eyes, she wished for her to wake up from this nightmare. She could hear him breath, she felt his body heat, she opened her eye to meet his mesmerising greens.

Meera couldn't register what happened in the next second but she felt his lips on hers, sucking nipping licking her own.

She wedged her hand between their bodies and pushed with all her strength, it would have been a miracle if Haider have had moved at all, his tall frame instead had pulled her more closer by her hips.
The next thing she knew, she was on the bed and Haider hovered over her, he pinned her down with enough of his body weight to stop her from squimmering or trying to push him off but he was careful to not crush her under him.

He pulled her hands out from between their torsos and pinned them above with one hand and continued to ravage her.

He had traveled below from her lips now to her neck kissing and nipping her tender skin.

"Get off me." Meera shrieked and tried to free herself but every attempt of hers to set free from his hold was nipped in the bud.

Haider left a trail of bite marks on her neck which would bruise up soon. He let go of Meera's hand and held the hem of his kurta and pulled it over his head, a few seconds of distraction is all that Meera wanted, she mustered all her strength and pushed Haider away, it worked. Haider fell down from her bed and Meera stood up backing away from him.

She ran towards her dressing table and picked the candle stand holding it like a weapon pointing it in Haider's direction.

"Don't come any closer, don't." She said in a shaky voice.

Haider looked at her and smirked, he was pissed way beyond the point which he could express. He took small steps, closer to her, he could see her hand trembling and tears were streaming down her eyes.

"Please don't come close to me." Her threat was now a cry for mercy. Haider wanted to feel happy looking at her state but he somehow couldn't bring himself to, no he wasn't a monster.

He took slow steps towards Meera who was now backed up against the wall, he stood inches from her, he could smell her sweet scent and hear her breathing faster, tears fell from her doe eyes which were now red from crying.

Haider extended his right arm and snatched the heavy candle stand from her and threw it on the floor making her whimper.

He then pulled her by her hand into his chest and wrapped his arms around her,her body stiffened against his at first, but soon her palms rested in his naked chest and Meera broke down.

Meera did not expect him to hold her comfortingly, she was sure he would hit her or violate her body, but here she was in his arms, feeling safe.

Haider did not know if he would be able to be the beast he had decided to be towards his wife. He did not know if you could go forward with the revenge he had plotted. All his anger and hatred had come crumbling down when she broke into hive in his arms.

She fell on the floor and sobbed, he sat down beside her, holding her in his arms and she wrapped her hands around him like he was the last piece of hope in her life.

Meera had exhausted herself crying and fell asleep on the floor in his arms, he looked at his beautiful innocent wife, who despite the puffy red face was the most beautiful lady he had laid his eyes on.

Haider scooped Meera from the floor and placed her on the soft bed. After contemplating for long he decided to lie down next to her and let the morning and Allah decide the path for him.

One thing he knew for certain was, the daughter would no more pay for the sins of her father.
