She agreed to it. Only God knew why but she had agreed to it. The threat implied in Danny's words was a strong reason though.

"Where are we going?" she asked after a moment.

Danny was driving the car silently until they left the houses behind and the road got surrounded by a deep forest. Looking outside the window, Eva wondered if she could have escaped from that situation somehow. After all, what evidence did he really have about what she was?

"Danny".

"Wait."

"No, no more waiting. Why do I have to wait? Do you think that your attitude is normal? I want to know where you are taking me, you damn psycho."

Danny didn't look offended by her choice of words and simply stared up to the dark sky for a minute. Was he checking out something? What could he possibly be checking out there though?

When Eva's gaze returned to the road, she noticed the car had taken a detour leaving the main road to get directly into the woods. If there was a hidden path there, she couldn't tell. It was too dark and the clouds had covered the moon once again.

The car went to a stop finally after some time and Danny turned the engine off before opening the door. Following his gesture, the woman also stepped out of the Mercedes but she didn't move from her muddy spot.

"We have to walk now", he said. "Let's go".

Maybe she could pretend to obey him in the meantime and try to escape as soon as she saw her chance. Was it a good idea? Was it a clever idea? Eva looked around and sighed softly as she joined him in front of the vehicle.

"Here", he pointed at their left and began to walk sure enough that she would follow him.

"Is this a good time to ask a question, Danny?"

"I don't know your name", he mumbled suddenly. "I only knew how you look but not your name."

"Oh, hmm... It's Eva. Please, I just want to..."

"A new girl who says to be who she is not", he quoted glancing at her. "That's how Tara described you. Was she right?"

Eva observed his profile for a moment and then looked away quickly without answering. Could she have been wrong and they actually did know who she was?

"You will feel her new", Danny said. "That will be her".

"Yes." She nodded as casually as she could. "I think at this point, everyone in town knows I'm new here. Why did you bring me here?"

"An old friend told me once that there are special people in the world. They're hidden though, because if someone would find out their secret, they would want to take advantage of it. Some things are meant to stay hidden. I think you understand that, don't you Eva?"

"I don't even know the heck are you talking about, but that's how things have been since I met you, so I guess it's cool with you, right?"

"These people are unique, although it is difficult to see why at first sight. Maybe even if one gets to know them very well, their secret would still remain in the shadows as it should be. Do you know what they can do, Eva?"

"I'm guessing you will tell me in a second, Danny".

"They have certain... abilities. That friend of mine was like that... but that's another story. Do you know what a dreamer is?"

"A person who dreams?" Eva joked around without smiling.

"I'm sure you've heard the terms before. Telepathy, telekinesis... There are so many more, but this is different. A dreamer can get into people's dreams and change them, manipulate them."

"Is that so? I imagine that you're not hearing yourself, are you?"

"Tara's special too. She can see things that people usually don't. Elisa teases her frequently about it, sometimes even bullies her but she has helped us a lot in many ways since we met her."

"Is that her real name or a nickname?"

"She thinks that you're a dreamer". Danny watched her reaction attentively while he spoke and Eva tried her best to not betray herself. "That's why I looked for you. Once I felt you, it wasn't hard to track you down again. Believe me: I could find your trace anywhere now".

"Is that another threat?"

"No. But it's best if you remember it".

"I will ask it again. What am I doing here, Danny?"

"You will see it for yourself".

He didn't say much after that but Eva was grateful of the silence. She needed it to think. By the time they arrived to the cabin, her thoughts were still in turmoil and they didn't get any better at the sight of the blood stains in front of the door.

But she couldn't ask any more questions. A short haired young woman walked out of the cabin suddenly and looked at Danny clearly upset.

"What the heck took you so long?" she said.
