After a million questions I couldn't answer, the doctor finally left. I shank back against the pillows, my head ringing. Suddenly the door burst open and a little girl ran in, saw me, and skidded to a halt. I was about to speak when she opened her mouth and screamed.
"DAD!"

My mind was confused. Who was this child? My child? Suddenly a blond man ran into the room and scooped her up before staring at me. "Billie? You're awake!" Fabulous, more strangers. He set the girl down and moved to me, hugging me tight. "How are you feeling? Does it hurt?"

I rubbed my temples. "Before we play 21 Questions can someone tell me who you people are?"

The man smiled. "Nice one, Beej." His smile faded when he saw my face. "You really don't remember?" I shook my head. "Billie, it's Mike. Mike Pritchard? We grew up together man, we've been best friends since we were 10.'

I offered him a shrug, indicating it didn't ring a bell.

He sighed shakily but picked the girl back up. "This is my daughter Estelle. You're her favourite guy." Estelle smiled and waved shyly at me. "What's the last thing you remember?" Mike asked.

"Nothing. They had to tell me my name when I woke up, so I know that. And I'm 32? I know I'm divorced with two boys, and I'm in a band?"

Mike looked excited. "Yeah! Green Day, I'm your bassist. Our drummer is called Tré. Cool guy, not so sensible."

"Anything else you can tell me?" I asked, and Mike took a deep breath.

"Your Mom's name is Ollie, your dad's name is Andrew. You're the youngest of six. There's Alan, David, Marci, Anna, Hollie and you. Your dad died when you were 10. I moved in with you when I was 15 and you were 16 because my mom and dad broke up, then she remarried and then divorced again, she moved away and my step dad died. So I moved in with you. We made ourselves a band, drummer was called Al Sobrante but he left to go to college, dumb ass. So then we found Tré in a bar and worked from there, got real rich and we've just released an album called American Idiot, it's fuckin' blowing up, man, you've got no idea." He took a breath. "And yeah, that's the short story."

I blinked and adjusted my blanket. "Well damn, we got ourselves quite the life don't we?"
