It was probably one of the hottest days of spring in Beijing. Birds could be heard tweetting everywhere, the grass at the parks seemed more green and vivid than ever. Flowers were blooming in every corner of the busy city. May 1st was a beautiful day.

Once again, "Gege's" coffee shop was full of people waiting in a queue, in order to get their cold drinks. A chaos on a hot ‪Monday morning‬. You could smell the roasted fresh coffee beans from miles away and that scent always lured you inside the little shop.

Zhang Duozi couldn't believe her eyes, when she entered the famous coffee shop and saw the long waiting line. Not to mention, that she was already late for class, but she knew that she couldn't attend any morning lesson without her coffee first. It was almost 0‪9:00 a.m.‬
"Oh, hell." She cursed and spontaneously walked past the line.
"Zao an, Mr. Wu!" She said to the barista and the old man smiled at her. She was a usual customer, friends with the owner and it's family. She had a small talk with Mr. Wu, constantly checking the time on her phone.

"Hey!" A female voice sounded from just behind her all of a sudden. An annoyed one.
Duozi turned her head and suddenly faced a beautiful, yet frustrated brunette. In a wheelchair. "I was here first!" She complained and frowned her eyebrows.
"Yes! I know." Duozi sounded a bit cocky, but she looked again at Mr. Wu, quickly grabbed her coffee and walked away. How rude!

Instead of starting running to her class, it looked like she had suddenly forgotten about it, so she stood a few feet away from the coffee shop, in order to collect herself, staring at the green area across the street. If she was being honest to herself, she would knew that she was only staying there, in order to watch the brunette coming out of the store. And that's exactly what happened.

Duozi pretended that she was being ignorant, staring at her phone.
"Hey, you!" The brunette shouted at her and rolled towards her.
Zhang Duozi got nervous. She was constantly taking sips on her coffee, although she was kind of prepared for the bump. But she tried to look cool anyway.

"Why did you pay for my coffee?"
Now, the cute girl was facing her with a look of surprise and frustration at the same time. Her skin was so white and her black round eyes matched her black straight hair.
"Um, it was rude of me to take your spot in the line, so I felt sorry for you."
"I don't like people feeling sorry for me." She said and looked the other way.
Well, that didn't come out right.

"T-that's not what I meant. I mean that it's not like me to be rude and steal people's place on a queue." She scratched her head out of nervousness, trying to explain her immature action. And to be honest, she has completely forgot about her class, ever since she saw that girl for the first time.
"Then why did you do it?" The other girl rolled closer with no hesitation.
"My cup of coffee is always ready at 08:55 a.m., so I quickly grab it and go." Her face became a bit brighter. Her excuse was not that bad anyway.

"Okay, thank you." Said the brunette and initiated to go away. She looked reserved and a bit overwhelmed.
"Hey, wait!" Duozi tried to stop her.
The girl has been taken by surprise, but she stayed.

"Could you at least tell me your name?"
"Sun Rui." She said.
"Sun Rui..." She repeated. "I'm Zhang Duozi." And a bright smile showed on her face. "Is there a chance I could meet you here again?"
"I don't know." She responded indifferently.

"May I ask for your phone number then?" Duozi hesitated at first, but took the courage to ask.
"Do you usually ask for a stranger's phone number?"
"Only if they're as pretty as you."
Awkward silence for a bit.
"Here's what we're going to do, Zhang Duozi. You will give me your phone number."
Sun Rui handed her cellphone to the stranger and let the latter save her phone number to the former's contacts.

"I know you won't text me, but it was worth the try." She said a bit disappointed.
"We'll see." Said the girl in the wheelchair and rolled away.
Duozi was left there with a bittersweet smile on her face. Maybe she really liked the girl and secretly hoped for a text one of the following days.

"Fuck, it's 0‪9:07‬!" She checked the time on her phone and started running to College.

Such an interesting and stressful day!
