Chapter 18: Trust you?

I look at Walter and no shit both of us has confused expressions. Protect me? From what? From who? Okay what the hell is going on and why am I so confused!

"Holy shit! Bennett is dating Anastasia not because he likes her-but because he wants to protect you? THANK GOD." I heard Walter silently pray beside me. I smack her in the head as I rolled my eyes. "Walter! Shush!" I put a finger on her mouth because she was being too loud.

Too loud that they heard us.

Both Bennett and Anastasia turn their head towards us but thank god we're hiding behind a wall. "Oh shit,Walter MOVE!" I push her and she immediately ran towards the opposite side. I followed behind her until we reach our class.

"Meet me at my locker right after class." I said sternly to Walter so she knows that I'm not joking around. She nodded and playfully did an aye aye captain before entering her class.

"So whatchu think about what happened earlier?" Walter ask as she lay her back on my locker. I put my books in there and lock it harshly. "I can't believe Bennett lied to me!" I huffed crossing my arms. Walter pout at the sight of me being like a big baby.

"He probably has his reasons,Noah." She pat my head softly as she made an apologetic face. "I know,but he could at least y'know tell me to not be worried or he's not actually in love with her cause oh god I was so mad at him and he didn't ever deserve it." I said looking at Walter who's looking like she's about to laugh.

"What's so funny?" I raised an eyebrow at her. She point her finger at my face and immediately bursts into laughter. "You look like you're about to cry! Such a baby!" She fake pout and made this weird cry baby sound.

I push her lightly as I facepalm myself. "Shut up,Walter! You're supposed to be on my side!" I mumble under my breath.

Until I heard a familiar male voice behind me.

"Noah." My body stiffened at the sound of the voice. I turned my head slowly just to meet two familiar pair of eyes.

Bennett's pair of eyes.

"What do you want?" I said coldly. I have to act as if I didn't witnessed anything just now. He sigh as he step closer to me. "We need to talk." I could feel my body getting nervous-he wants to talk about Anastasia and his protect thingy right?

"Fine." I grumbled following him to an empty class room. I look behind just to see Walter show me her two thumbs up as she mouthed 'Go girl!'

As if that would help.

As we reach the empty class room, I cross my arms lazily while looking at him waiting for an explanation. He stood in front of me while touching both of my shoulders.

"Promise me you wouldn't kill me after I told you this." He breathed out nervously. "Just tell me,Ben." I said eagerly wanting to know what's happening right now.

"I dated Anastasia because she threatened to hurt you." He said quickly and backing away from me like I'm about to kick him or something.

But I did the complete opposite. I laugh-I laugh so hard I forgot what oxygen are.

"Hurt me? With what? Her 3 inch nails that will immediately broke trying to open a can?" I laugh again falling on the floor.

"No-you DONT get it." He said frustratedly as he carry me so I would stand straight. "Her father is one of the most richest and dangerous guy here. He can order anybody to hurt you especially if it's related to our family." My eyebrows furrowed.

"Our family?" He nodded cupping my cheeks. "We may look like ordinary teenage boys but do you think all the money came from mom and dad only? We have to raise you,Noah. And sometimes we have to do bad things just to make you feel like a normal teenager." I push his hands away,backing up from him.

"What do you mean bad things? Explain it to me,Ben." I ask sternly.

"We hurt people,Noah. All of us." He breathed out looking like he's about to break down any second. "Even peter?" My voice broke signalling I was so close to tears.

"Yes." He walk closer to me but I back up again. "Don't."  I said stopping him from walking closer to me. "What?you don't trust me now?" He said,looking at me with teary eyes.

"Trust you? Ben, I don't know you anymore! The Bennett I used to know loves to read books and is very good at math. This-this Ben is a stranger to me." I cried pushing him away from me.

"Please don't push me away,Noah." He begged with his teary eyes in front of me. I can't help but cry at the sight in front of me.

"Peter...my Peter.He hurt people." I can't explain what I'm feeling right now.

Betrayed,lied-my brothers? My lovely annoying as brothers does bad things...for me?

So it's my fault too.
