"And we're going to go into this 'Snowveil Sanctum' with no knowledge of this 'Karliah' other than she murdered the last guild master and has been on the run for how long now? Doesn't any of this seem, I don't know, ODD to you?"

Despite only recently being unearthed a year ago, Serana could tell this was strange and not a good idea. Her world had changed, a new god she'd never heard of was the reason for recent wars, dragons flew the skies of Tamriel once more and Skyrim had changed.

She followed her love on any quest but this one she wasn't sure of. Harley didn't think it was strange at all which annoyed the vampire. They were asked by the current guild master to go to an old tomb and track down a woman who killed the last leader. No one told them about how it happened, how long ago it happened or what caused her to murder him. All they knew was her name and she was a murderer. To Serana, a lot of detail was being left out.

"Relax love. If anything she already knew we were coming and left having gotten what she needed or something. We'll get there, fight a few draugr and leave. And if she is there, we kill her and move on. It won't be our first ruin and it won't be the last. Besides, we both saw Mercer's face at the mention of her name. She means business and we'll give her it."

The blonde haired nord tried to give her reasoning on the topic at hand but was admittedly a bit skeptical, not that she'd tell Serana that.

She did find it questionable that no one told her about Karliah like Gulum-Ei said, even he knew more about this woman than the two vampires did. She didn't want to give Serana any reason to overthink and worry so she pretended to be fine about the whole thing.

"I just think this whole thing is too sketchy even for the thieves guild. The dark brotherhood told us more about shit on our first day. The dark fucking brotherhood. I get both organisations rely on stealth and secrecy but this is a bit extreme."

Harley turned her head to view the ancient vampire, her brow was creased while she was deep in thought and her bright orange iris screamed worry. The younger vampire moved closer to her lover and wrapped an arm around her middle, pulling her closer while still walking.

"Mercer will explain more when we get there I'm sure. If not we can use our amazing convincing skills to force him." Serana chuckled at her girlfriends subtle meaning.

"Let's hope so."

"Good, you're finally here. I've scouted the ruins and I'm certain Karliah is still inside." Mercer stood before the two Nord women with an unimpressed look.

"You saw her?" Harley turned her nose up at the smell of blood and noticed Serana did to.

"No, but I found her horse. Safe to say she won't be using it to escape." Both Harley and Serana turned towards the scent of blood and noticed a dying fire and horse laying on the snow covered ground, blood half frozen from the slit in its throat.

Serana felt her undead blood boil. That poor animal did nothing, it didn't fight, it didn't cause any of this. She wanted to put an ice spike through mercer or slit his throat see how he'd like it. She knew Harley was upset too.

"There was no reason to kill her horse. Regardless of whether or not she escaped us the horse would have been useful either way. It did not ask to be killed." The blonde woman had to calm herself feeling her vampire lord claws growing. Having grown up around horses she hated to see the poor creatures hurt. She'd make him pay later.

"Let's get moving, I want to catch her inside before it's too late, you can take the lead." Mercer crossed his arms and waited for the young vampire to go. She stared at him in disbelief.
