Chapter 8:

"Hey Jewel!" a guy shouted my name

"Who?? Where??" I asked the girls

"There!" Jam said while turning me around 180*

"Oh hi! Yes?" I replied.

"Jewel!" Mark shouted. By the way Mark is my classmate. He looks like a nice person but from what I saw from our orientation camp, he's not the type of boys that I should keep in my company but what am I going to do, he's my classmate. I see him everyday, I have no choice.

"Ouch! You're going to burst my eardrums!" I retaliated.

"Oh sorry." He apologized

"Okay, never mind that. So? What can I do for you?" I asked

"Oh nothing! I just wanted to tell you that you sounded great just now." He said smiling.

"Oh... Okay... Thanks?" I unseeingly said.

"Oh okay... Bye! Hi Jamie!" He said.

Blushing!! He's blushing?! Is he actually blushing? Why is he blushing? I'm actually sensing something fishy here. What would it might be? Does he have a crush on her? Wow!

"Hi Mark" she replied back

Mark walked away from our table blushing and scurried to their table about four tables away from ours.

What was that all about? How did? Why did he? Did he just.... uhm?

"Hey girl, use your words!" Nadine said.

"Oh! Was I saying all that out loud?" I asked unseeingly.

"Uh, duh! What's wrong with you Bes?" Jam replied.

"Oh nothing it's just that uhm... I think that Mark may have a thing for you Bes" I replied.

"Me?" She seem startled "Why me?"

"He just lost his so called cool when he said hi to you" Alyna said with air-quotes on cool.

"Yeah! He totally did!" Zia added "I may be shy around new people but I know I thing or two about boys."

"OUH!!" I started to tease Jam "we have Team Mark starting out!"

"Knock it off Jew!" She smacked my shoulder.

"Team Mark?" Zia asked.

"I know!" Nadine replied "He likes you so he's a running for a team. He's a candidate for Jamie's heart. Am I right or am I right?"

"You are totally right!" I replied to Nad

"Knock it off you guys!" Jam seems irritated but flattered at the same time "Lets just go and buy our food!"

"Okay fine" Alyna said

"As you wish" Zia said while giggling with me.

"Okay class! Good morning!"

"Good morning Mrs Frell" the class greeted

"Take a seat anywhere you want. If I find that everyone is chatting during my lesson then I'll change your seats" she announced

"Yes ma'am..." Nadine whispered

"Yes young lady? You were saying something?" She took notice of Nad

"Nothing. I said 'yes ma'am' ma'am" she wittingly replied

"Okay. Move along now" she quickly shooed Nad.

"So class, everyone clear? Yes? Okay let's..." Miss Frell was interrupted

"Excuse me teacher." A guy said from outside the door.

"Yes Ryan! Come in!" She said

Oh my gosh! It's Ryan! Act cool Jewel. Act natural.

"Ma'am can I just take a look at my bench? I left my wallet there." Ryan asked

"Which bench?" Miss Frell asked

"Bench 18, corner chair from the left." He explained

That's my seat! Oh my gosh! We share the same seat! It's a sign!!

"Okay... Those girls over there!" She pointed at us. "Can you check the bench if there is a wallet there?"

"Yes ma'am there is one" I replied.

"Okay bring it over." She gestured

"Here you go!" I said handing the wallet

"Thank you so much Jewel!" He said. Our hands touched when he took the wallet from my hands.

Oh my gosh!! He touched my hand! I'm never washing this hand! Well not literally...

"Thanks Miss Frell" he greeted then headed out.

"Thank you to her and thanks to me?" Miss Frell questioned herself. "Nice. Back to your bench Jewel"

"Okay thank you class!" Miss Frell greeted

"Thank you Miss Frell!" The class greeted back and scurried out the door.

Everyone is in such a hurry to get out of here! Why is that?! I just don't get it.

"That was the mystery guy wasn't he?" Jam whispered to my ear.

"How did you know that?!" I was shocked.

"So it was him! I knew it! He's the candidate for Student Body President!" She became louder

"Shhhhhhh!!!!" I replied immediately. "Okay fine! Yes it's him! You don't have to shout it to the whole world! And it's Student Council President anyway, not student body president."

"Same same! He's still running for presidency" she replied. "He's cute though! Nice taste girl!"

"Okay???" I replied

"Guys!! Lets go!" Alyna called us

"Oh right! Coming!" Jam and I shouted

"Let's just go for lunch. I'll tell you all about Ryan later" I told Jam

"Sure! Anytime! But make sure you spill all the deeds. All those juicy deeds" Jam said mischievously

"Oh stop that! Lets go they're waiting for us" I nudged Jam.
