A hand shakes me, and I groan opening my eyes. Jess has a mug in her hand and I sit up on the couch. I fell asleep on the couch last thing. I massage my temples to get rid of the headache.

"I made coffee"Jess says and place the black mug on the coffee table.

"Thanks"I wrap my hands around the mug and bring it to my lips.

"I know it's none of my business, but I think you should slow down with the drinking for a little while Tay."I stop midway and look at her.

"You are right, it's none of your business."I snap and place the mug on the table. No longer in the mood for coffee.

"Think about your health, you know what..."

"You don't know a damn thing about my condition." sleeping here was a mistake. A big mistake.

"I may not know anything about it but I know mixing booze with your condition is deadly. You could die Tay"she is now screaming at me which a bit surprising. Jess has never raised her voice at me, not even once.

"I feel like I am dead anyway. What is the point of living?"I say out loud and Jess gasp.

"Don't say such things you hear. Life is a journey that has a lot of potholes on the road, but you have to be strong and get yourself and car to make it to the other side rather than feeling sorry for yourself. It won't get you anyway, and you know it. You are one of the strongest person I have ever known and love. You never give up no matter what. Every problem has a solution, remember?" she turns my words against me. I don't know what to do or feel about her still having feelings for me. I wish she could forget about me or getting her hopes up, and I know being here or around isn't helping the situation.

I remember when I first saw Jess, she was so lost and all alone. Just a little girl afraid in the world alone when mom brought her home with us. Mom almost ran into her with her car because she came out of nowhere. It was a miracle that the car stopped at a foot away. I remember her being scared of all of us, thinking we will hurt her. She was a victim, she witnessed something she shouldn't have. She watched as her parents where brutally murdered in front of her eyes. Something a 15-year-old shouldn't witness. The reason she became a PI and working with the police. Mom paid for her studies and when she graduated her mission begun. She hunted all of them down, every single one for them and now they are in jail.

I blink as a soft hand touches mine."I know right now everything seems like it's the end but it's not. There's always a silver lining at the end." tears threaten to spill at the corner of her eyes.

"Do it for Olivia. You love her right?" she says and continues,

"Don't drink yourself to your own death please." she pleads. I don't intentionally drink because I want to kill myself, I drink because somehow, somewhere it helps stay sane and balanced. Dealing with the virus was never easy for me, the medication that came with it. At some point, I wished I was a normal, normal lifestyle without endless medication. Nate has never had a problem with it. He wakes up every day like it's normal, takes his medication on time then go on. I have never heard him complain to his mother about it. I pull my hand away and lean back against the soft material.

"I really don't want to talk about this," I say and she nods in understanding.

"What is happening with Donald and David?"I ask.

"They are standing trial next week Friday if you want to go. Olivia might be asked to tell the side of her story,"

"Olivia is not ready to do that yet. Talk to the person handling the case and tell them that Olivia can't stand trial. I'm sure Donald's story and the evidence will be fine." she nods and I check the time on the wristwatch.9 am, it reads.

"I have to go," I say and grab my car keys.

"Keep me posted if anything new pops up," I say, and she nods holding the door. I walk outside and quickly bring my hand to my face to shield my eyes against the bright sunlight.

"God!it's like it never rained last night," I say under my breath and walk around my car. I hop in the driver's seat and reverse the car out of the house driveway. I drive into the empty road listening to the radio.

My mind wanders off to Olivia and if she is okay. Is she better than yesterday? Has she woken up yet, did she ask about me? Is mad or afraid. I sigh at the thoughts occupying my mind and speed down the road.

Minutes later I park my car in front of my house and hop out. I place my car keys inside my pocket and open the door. The TV is on with the news channel and this time they are reporting about Olivia's accident. I walk to the kitchen to find Nate, Rachel, Andrew, and Future looking depressed.

"What is with the faces?"I ask and sit on the barstool next to Rachel. They all look at me as if am crazy.

"How is Olivia?"Rachel asks and I sigh.

"If you want to know so bad about how she is doing why didn't you go to the hospital?"I snap at her and receive a deadly glare from Nate.

"Am sorry. I didn't mean for it to come out so harshly "I apologize, and she nods with a smile on her face.

"Why are you still here?"I ask looking at Andrew and Future.

"What do you mean by 'why are we still here?' "Andrew asks confused.

"Your new house remember? Why aren't you there? Don't tell me that you are not moving anymore because of what happened? because that would be ridiculous. "

"We can't move out when things are like this Tay"Future says and I shake my head.

"I guess I have to kick you out then"

"What do you by that?"Andrew asks.

"I want you both out of my house before the end of the day, am I clear?"I ask in my business mode.

"No," Andrew says being stubborn.

"It wasn't a request, it was an order." with that I push the stool back and get on my feet. I pad the stairs to my..our room. The bed is unmade and everything is pretty much the way I last saw it.

Expect she is not here.

I walk to the bathroom and take a shower. Half an hour later, I walk out of the bathroom dressed in sweat pants and a long-sleeve t-shirt. I fold the sleeves of the shirt up until my elbow and make the bed.

I sit on the bed and grab my phone. I dial James' number and place the phone on my ear waiting for him to answer.

"James speaking?"

"How is Olivia?"I ask.

"Who is this?"

"You know that already now, how is she?"

"Tay I know..."I cut him off getting irritated.

"Look I know your feelings for Olivia which you shouldn't be considering she is married. But now..."

"I don't have feelings for Olivia," he says quickly with a bit of panic in his voice.

"I hate liers you know? Just keep your hands and your mouth to yourself and we will be fine. Now back to what I called you for, how is she?"I walk to the bay window.

"She woke up half an hour ago." my breath hitches in my throat.
