"You were on fire tonight Gigi! On fire my girl!" Sofia screams in a sing-song manner as she runs towards me with her arms open inviting my slightly breathless body in towards her embrace.

With the neck of my white Fender still dangling from my fingertips I trot down the uneven steps at the back of the bar's stage. Bringing my foot down from the last step I'm met by the familiar scent of Sofia's Gucci Bloom perfume as she wraps her long-tanned arms around my small neck.

"That has to have been one of your best shows yet G!" Jacob says with a Cheshire cat-like grin as I pull myself away from Sofia's warm arms.

"Thanks, guys" I reply shyly with half a grin, running my hand across my damp forehead. It was a really good gig tonight, to be honest probably one of the best turnouts I've had in a long time. The whole bar was heaving with body's tonight although I'm pretty sure that it had nothing to do with my music and more the fact that the apparent American heartthrob Colten Jax was playing a sold-out show in the area tonight, this was a great place for pre-drinks. They all seemed to be enjoying my set though... at least they weren't throwing things at me...

Sof so desperately wanted me to go with her to see this Colton Jax, but I was working tonight, and I'd rather be able to pay my rent over fangirling an artist I don't overly like nor listen too. Although it worked in my favour thanks to this supposed musical prodigy the bar, Niki's, was full and there was barely enough breathing room.

Nicki's is a small rustic bar in the centre of London which always manages to capture the attention of passers-by, there's never a quiet night at Niki's, and I'm usually always kept on my toes. I had been working and playing at Niki's for the last 4 years, I can't complain either I love working here most of the time and Niki's always been good to me, giving me the extra shift here and there or letting me play my stuff when I feel up to it.

Niki knows a lot about me and understands things in my life not many other people do, which is why she always treats differently from the other staff. Some of the other servers and barmaids get jealous of the relationship Niki and I have, she the closest thing I have to a role model and to be honest, the closest thing I have to a mother. She's always got my back so quite frankly, I couldn't give a shit what the other gossiping bitches think.

Niki's is also known for having the best live entertainment and cheap alcohol on this side of London, another reason the bar is never quiet. Another thing I love about Niki's is how diverse the cliental is, people from all walks of life walk through the pink painted doors every night and all come together over whoever is playing that night. The power of music, me and Niki always joke. But it's very true, music is a universal language everyone understands. Sometimes you get the rowdy men who have had way too much to drink and think they can try their luck by putting their grubby hands on you, it's just the way it is working in a bar in such a... skimpy outfit. Wrong I know but it's not something I haven't had to deal with before. Other than that handful of pigs, the customers are great, and I love working at this bar.
