I love scary games, I promise I'll get into some stories or something so just be patient.

Now I've actually played this game and it has worked, which is why I'm terrified of the dark and elevators. I'm sure most of you know what this is game is since it is pretty popular. But I'll give the instructions and what it is in case you are uncultured and don't know what the elevator game is.

Also stick around to the end and I'll share my elevator game story

The Elevator Game

The Elevator Game is a ritual that will bring you to another world (or dimension) by use of a elevator. This game originated in Japan and South Korea

MATERIALS

You will need one person (can be played with more), a public building with at least ten floors, and of course a elevator

INSTRUCTIONS

To start the game, the player(s) need to enter the elevator. You will need to go to different floors in a certain sequence, if at any moment someone enters or exist the elevator you must restart the game.

1. Press the fourth floor

2. Press the second floor

3. Press the sixth floor

4. Back to the second floor

5. Press the tenth floor

6. Press the 5th floor.

7.  If a woman enters at the fifth floor, DO NOT look at her, DO NOT speak to her. That woman is not human, if you do, she will decide to keep you as her own

8. Press the first floor. The elevator will either descend or ascend, if the elevator reaches the first floor LEAVE AND DO NOT LOOK BACK

9. If the elevator reaches the tenth floor, leave and do not respond to the woman if she asks "Where are you going?" or "What's wrong?". Her voice will be high when she asks that

YOU ARE IN THE OTHER WORLD

1. You (or all other players) are alone

2. Electronics will not work in the other world

3. The other world is identical to our world, but the two differences you will see are: all lights will be off, and the only thing you will be able to see from the windows is a red cross in the distance

RETURNING TO OUR WORLD

To go back to our world you must go to the same elevator and press the same buttons (only if you leave the tenth floor)

4-2-6-2-10-5

When you reach the fifth floor press the button for the first floor. The elevator will being to ascend to the tenth floor. Press any other floors button to cancel the ascension. You MUST press the button you use to cancel the ascension BEFORE you reach the tenth floor.

After you reach the first floor, check your surroundings carefully. If anything seems off, even in the slightest, repeat step 2 until your surroundings look as they should. Once you are confident you have returned to your own world, you may safely exit the elevator.

TIPS FOR PLAYING THE GAME

- Getting back to your own world may be more difficult than it seems: You may become disorientated and forget which elevator you have arrived; the elevator may seem to get further and further away from you as you walk towards it; and so on. Be vigilant, and keep your wits about you

- If at any point in the game you lose consciousness, you will likely wake up in your own home. However, be sure to carefully examine your surroundings upon waking. The "home" to which you have been returned may not me the one you left when you first set out to attempt this ritual.

- You must not, in any case, attempt this too many times. This makes you susceptible to accidentally slipping through the worlds

-If you do not get out of the elevator on the tenth floor or the woman does not get it, you should head straight down to the first floor and leave

-Sometimes, when you're coming back, the elevator goes up instead of down. You have to cancle the ascension by pressing any button between your current floor and the tenth floor and get off. The other world is pulling you.

-If you faint in the other world and find yourself back in your own world be careful. You can be pulled there and back at any moment.

Now for my Elevator Game horror story....

Last year I went on a trip to California to go see my cousins and friends that live over there. My mom and dad couldn't come so it was the first time I was on a plane alone. But thats not important. I get to the airport and my uncle comes to pick me up with two of my cousins that were my age at the time. We joke and laugh around about random stuff until we get to the house where I'll be staying at.

Everyone in my family knows I'm weird when it comes to paranormal and horror, so it wasn't a surprise when two of my cousins, who we're going to call Sam and Liam, came up to me and asked about the Elevator Game. I didn't know too much about it at the time, so after some research I decided I defiantly wanted to try it.

Sam was about eighteen so it wasn't hard for him to take me and Liam (both fifteen) out of the house for a few hours. He also brought one friend who we're going to call Max, he was about sixteen at the time. So we went over the rules, I wrote them all down on a sheet of paper and we made sure we all knew what to do.

Nine pm we all went downtown. Since the real adults we were with were reckless, they let us go without question. We stopped to get something to eat at some burger place. Max was getting nervous but he didn't want to duck out. Nine-thirty/ten pm we leave for one of the only hotels that have over ten floors. Basically no one was walking around so we figure it was unlikely anyone was going to hop onto the elevator with us.

We got on the elevator, I was confident this was going to work and I really wasn't scared. We started the sequence, making sure that we were doing everything right. We were all laughing and joking around as we went up and down the elevator. Then we hit the fifth floor, the door opened and we were still laughing. Then a lady comes on, we all instantly looked at the floor or our phones. I didn't know what the lady looks like (and never will), the only thing I saw were her black shoes. I refused to look up no matter what. I managed to step forward and rest the button for the first floor to complete the game.

My phone completely shuts off. You know how your internet is bad when you're in a elevator, my phone just went off as if it died. The lady try's to talk me to be exact. She says "Hey cutie, whats your name?" And "Hey are you alright?"  I still look down at my feet, freaking out on the inside yet feeling some type of excitement and rush. Thats when I realize the elevator is going up. Meaning we actual did it right.

Max actually freaks out, Sam literally has to hold his hand as the elevator continues going up. Then it stops, on the tenth floor. The lady muttered something, I was kinda in shocked that it even worked so I don't pay attention to it. I look up onto the floor and everything is dark. The lights are flickering creepily, and the walls I could see just had a darker hue. I actually start to step off the elevator because thats what we agreed on doing if it worked. But Liam pulls me back before I could leave and hits the button for the first floor.

We go all the way down to the first floor without a problem. My phone starts working again once we hit the first floor. We quickly get off the elevator and rush out the building, thankfully no one asks any questions.

We don't really talk about that anymore, and I haven't gone to that hotel since I hope I never have to. I don't know if you guys believe me or not, but I can tell you that the Elevator Game is real and it works.
