I woke up early the next day, too excited to sleep in for the day ahead of me. I texted Faye for more details about where to meet her and who else was coming with us in the car. After that, I raced up the stairs, deciding it was time to get something to eat. Making myself some oatmeal, I got a text back from Faye:

You're riding with me and a couple girls are that we sorta know LOL so we don't get bored. I'm getting you up last.. probs like 12:00 :)

Alright cool. I responded.

It'd be good to get to know more of the girls around here. I thought aloud.

I ate my oatmeal slow, trying to pass the time until she picked me up. Finishing too early, I decided to turn on some music to get my anxious self thinking about something else.

One of my favorite things ever, was a good song. I've never been good at singing or playing an instrument, but I crushed it at some guitar band. I currently have tens, if not hundreds, of unfinished playlists on my phone, adding to them daily after stumbling upon new songs. Because of this, I have a pretty broad taste in music. What was so exciting about meeting Faye was not only was she interesting, a little weird, and overall different; she was genuinely fun and shared a similar, broad taste in music. We both loved rock to indie to pop-y stuff, from any time frame, too. However, my favorite music overall would be dance music. I love anything I can just move with. Dance, another thing I don't have much skill in, is one of my more appreciated hobbies. In fact, back at my mom's, we had dance parties with April and her boyfriend, Eric, ALL the time. Sometimes, we would invite Kacie over in attempt to learn from her, since she's been a dancer her whole life.

Thinking of those parties, led to thinking of Kacie, and why she hasn't picked up the phone once to text me. It made me start to get antsy and so I decided that I needed to have more trust in our relationship than I was currently. It was hard but she is simply worth it.

By the time I had eaten, danced, and pondered, it was 11:02. I texted my dad, who was out grocery shopping, that I was leaving soon. I brought up my bag and pair of tennis shoes, getting ready for when Faye and the other girls got here. Realizing that I hadn't changed out of the outfit from last night, I figured this is what I would've worn anyways and kept it on. Putting my hair in a pony tail, I slid on my baby blue crocs and went to wait on the porch. I slid some earbuds in, getting hype for my awaited ride.

Seeing something shimmer in my peripheral, I looked up to Faye's blue minivan pull up in the sun. I stood up, grabbing all my belongings and headed down the steps. Faye came out, waving arms and all, and opened the trunk for me.

"Okay let me break it down for you quick" she said in a hushed voice, "the blonde one is Sophie and the red head is Sarah. Sophie isn't the most social so she will have to warm up to you. Don't worry, if anyone can get her to open up, it'd be you."

"Oh okay, noted. What about the red head?" I asked, not remembering her name.

"That's Sarah. She's very... outspoken? Just maybe try not to chat her up as much until you understand what I mean." I looked at her funny, "No seriously, don't." She looked at me dead serious.

I hopped into the back saying a quick hey to the girls already in the car. Sophie was in the front seat, while I was sat in the middle row with Sarah. The back row was folded down, leaving more room for fire pit items, our snacks, other chairs, and luggage.

"Hey, I'm Sarah." Sarah spoke, not bothering to look up from her phone.

"Hey. I'm Corinne."

"You sure did pack a lot of shit, especially for a weekend trip." I looked up to meet Faye's eyes in the rearview, her eyebrows raised in a 'you get it now?' sort of way.
