The next day Gulf woke up pretty late, probably exhausted from all the hard labour yesterday so much so that his arms felt extremely sore and his back was still aching. It was now 10 in the morning and Gulf was glad that for once, he didn't have work today because Mew had taken the next couple of weeks off for him.
When he had gotten dressed and headed downstairs, Mew was already in the office because he had an early meeting to attend to so aside from a few butlers and servants scurrying around, the mansion was relatively empty and quiet.
Since Gulf had nothing to do anyways, after a quick breakfast he decided he was going to attempt to cook today. Gulf was never a great cook - he could manage with instant noodles or scrambled eggs but aside from those, even he was skeptical of his own cooking abilities. He remembered the last time he had attempted to make dinner, it went terrible. Earn had to clean up after his mess and ever since then, Gulf rarely cooked less he created more trouble for his poor sister. But today, he didn't know what had come over him, perhaps it was out of gratitude or simply because he wanted to pass time but after much deliberation, he decided he was going to prepare lunch for Mew too while he was at it.
Gulf scrolled through YouTube, hoping to find some inspiration when he came across a tutorial on making bento sets. It looked rather simple to Gulf at first glance, and coincidentally he had all the ingredients he needed. So he quickly got to work while his phone was propped up against a stand for easier reference. Many of the servants kindly offered to help, seeing how awkward Gulf was in the kitchen but the latter politely declined much to their horror.
While Gulf was busy dicing and chopping, the servants stood fearfully by the side, enthusiastic to help if Gulf needed. But this time, Gulf was determined to make it his own so he made sure to be extra careful as he followed the recipe closely. But cooking after isn't a skill you can pick up overnight unfortunately so even when Gulf was being exceptionally meticulous, he was still having some trouble. For one, the food tasted a little too salty and for two, he might've burnt the fish slightly although Gulf convinced himself (and others) that the dish was still edible despite it's mishaps. At least, it looked presentable and honestly if one didn't know better, they would actually think the dish looks pretty decent.
Gulf placed the foods into the bento box which consisted of some fried rice, salmon and an omelette which was his best dish out of all by the way and off he went to Mew's office. Since Gulf still has the gold card, it made getting into the office easy (though Gulf was still not used to people staring at him when he walked in as if they wanted to devour him alive which was no surprise really given his status.)
Gulf headed up to Mew's office like he remembered the previous time he was here. Gulf chewed on his lips as he fidgeted nervously while the elevator climbed up. He was feeling really nervous for some reason as a million possibilities flood through his head - What if Mew didn't like the food? What if he'd become a laughing stock because he couldn't cook? What if Mew hated him because he had done such a poor job at cooking? Gulf was being paranoid but a part of him couldn't help but worry especially when he felt a constant need to prove himself that he was 'worthy' to be Mew Suppasit's wife in some way.
Gulf never was this insecure. But ever since he married Mew, things have changed - He was no longer as confident as he used to be and he was becoming increasingly scared of not meeting up to people's expectations of him and what would constitute to being an eligible partner for the nation's billionaire. It was even more stressful with the media constantly on his back and the weight of having to maintain a certain image was taking a toll on him. And in times like these, Gulf would secretly wish that Mew hadn't been a billionaire and that he was just a regular person who had a stable nine to five job. Perhaps then, would Gulf be happier.
