(Author here- I would just like to say, thank you for reading this book so far....
You may now continue with the book!😚)
As I was walking down the hill towards the forest, I took my shoes off right at the edge of the forest so then I wouldn't be mistaken for one of the children playing the game of tag. I then took off on my stroll in the forest to look at the leaves, the scenery.
After about five minutes of walking bare feet I could see Emma, Norman and Ray ahead so, I quickly hid behind a tree, hoping that they wouldn't notice me. I stood there, behind the tree for a few minutes, when they started talking among themselves. Finally! I thought to myself... I peeked my head out a little bit and to my surprise, they were stood by the fence! This could be some good material, on the trio I thought to myself, a smirk plastered on my face. Then out of curiosity I decided to listen in on their conversation to see what else I could use in the future that might benefit myself...
"Mama says that we should always stay away from the gate and the fence, because its dangerous" Emma said looking towards the fence. "That's obviously not true" Ray added "cause what would this little fence protect us from?" he asked. "I say that we go and look" Norman suggested, and the other two agreed. They then climbed over the fence with little effort and walked forward, curious to what was there pas the fence...
I chuckled and walked away from my hiding spot. This is perfect material, sigh what would our dearest 'Mama' think of this? I thought to myself... After I to the 'orphanage' I walked over to the library and sat my self down on my favourite spot. I thought about what i heard from the naïve trio and chuckled at the thought. I was then suddenly super tired, so I silently fell to sleep clutching the book i was going to read later on...

When I woke up, I stretched my arms cause they were sore from holding the book that I was going to read for a few hours. I then lazily stood up and climbed down the ladder for me to get to the safe floor. Once I got down on to the ground, I walked to the nearby bookshelf that I had gotten the book from and put it back in the spot that I found it in. After I put the book back on the bookshelf, I walked slowly down the stairs, I made sure to plaster a smile on my face. You never know who's watching you after all and I have to keep up the act that I've been putting on for 4 years. Unfortunately....
I walked over to the clock that we have in the middle of the hallway and I checked the time. It was 5:45, luckily I still had 15 minutes until dinner was starting. "Hey Zina!" I jumped a little, what just happened? I'm never like this... I looked down towards who had called out my name with such joy, oh it was just phil. But still, that wasn't like me to get startled like that. "Hello, Phil! How are you?" I asked the brown haired 4 year old and he replied with a simple "I'm good thanks!" and then walked away to god knows where....
I then got the sensation that someone was watching me. so I looked around and saw Ray glaring at me from across the hallway, I gave him a quick smile then turned to wander the hallways until it was time for dinner.
15 minutes went by and it was time for dinner. I wandered down towards the dinner hall to go and sit down at the table. To my surprise I was one of the first ones at the table, which unfortunately meant I had to help set up the dinner table for when the other children had come down for dinner. I saw Ray and decided to ask why on earth he was staring at me in the hallway. I walked over to him, poked his shoulder and asked "Ray, why were you glaring at me in the hallway earlier?" I had an innocent look on my face and he seemed to be fooled by it, because he answered "oh yeah, sorry Zina. I actually don't know why I decided to spy on you and Phil earlier. Again sorry about that" after he had spoken, he scratched his neck and walked away. Hes lying, I thought to myself, Ray only scratches his neck when Hes nervous which indicates that Hes lying...
I frowned at the thought and walked away to take my seat at one of the many dinner tables. A few minutes had passed when finally all the children were sat down at there seats. Ray was sitting opposite me on the table and Emma and Norman were sitting either side of me. The amount of annoyance I had had bottled up inside only grew when Emma starting shouting across the table to the young girl who was going to get devoured today. Conny. Today was Connie's last day at the Grace field farm- oops I meant to say 'Orphanage', it was unfortunate but the demons that made the farms needed to eat as much as us poor and pathetic humans did. So I don't really mind it to be honest, because if it were me I would do anything to save my own skin. Even if it means becoming a monster like 'Mama'. So all in all, i was annoyed by the fact that it was Connie's last day here and Emma was making it worse by yelling loudly in her face...
{ - Time skip - LOL - i just wanted to write something and that's all I could come up with. Sorry - }
It was finally time for Conny to leave the 'Orphanage' and also say goodbye to this world. But of course the other children didn't know, but i had a slight feeling that Ray knew something about this place but he always had a poker face so i couldn't quite tell. All the children of this 'Orphanage' were gathered around the doorway to the 'Orphanage.' Some of the children were crying and saying that they didn't want Connie to leave while others were congratulating Connie for getting adopted by a family so then she could leave the 'Orphanage.'
I was sat on the stairs observing from afar. its not like i was sad about her getting eaten or anything. No it was just that i was always worried incase i was the next one to leave and get killed by the demons just for them to eat my brain. It was such a waste, i mean what did they even do with the dead bodies? did they have a dump where they left them? or what. all the questions that were popping up in my head wasn't allowing me to concentrate so i couldn't hear Don asking me if i was alright or not. I only managed to come back to reality when Don shook me, his hands on my shoulders and repeating the question 'was i ok?'
i snapped back to reality. Assuring Don that i was 'ok' and then walked back upstairs, when suddenly heard the brat Emma scream "Conny!" i ran back down the stairs and towards the dining hall where i heard Emma scream...
"Are you okay Emma?" i asked trying to act sympathetically Emma had a worried look on her face. Emma looked towards me and pointed at the table where Connie's stuffed rabbit named Little Bunny was laying. Emma then loudly shouted "We ned to go and bring it back to her!" Norman somewhat agreed and decided to join Emma on bringing Conny her favourite stuffed Rabbit. "But what if its too late!" i shouted back, hoping that Ray would join in on the conversation and to my luck he did!
"It might not be to late actually, i saw the lights on back at the gate and Mama's not back yet. So you might still have some time to get it back to her..." he said calmly and as usual with a look of pure boredom on his face. "Well is Rays says its alright, then i think that you guys should go for it! Go and give Conny her little bunny to her!" i shouted happily trying to encourage the fools Emma and Norman to go and see the look of death...
Emma took Little Bunny off the table and with Norman, the fools ran off to try and give the dead girl her ugly bunny back. I turned to look at Ray and he was smirking sadistically. So i decided to risk it, but first i had to make sure that we were alone so i dragged him along to the library that was always quiet. I told Ray to climb the ladder up to my- or should i say our favourite reading spot in the library. Once me and Ray were up on top and it was quiet, i finally decided to speak up, so to do that i stopped being the innocent 10 year old that Ray knew and put on a psychotic smile and asked him...
"So, you know about this farm that we live on- oops sorry i meant to say 'or-ph-an-ag-e'
