And so we embarked on the Journey to Co. Antrim so that Maggie and I could attend the Boarding School of Iontach.

"Maggie, seriously do we have to go to Antrim? Can't we go to another nearby. Or better yet, not change schools at all?" I asked. Grandma was driving the car and us two were sitting in the back seat. Our bags were everywhere. There was basically a fortress between us and Grandma, then another between Maggie and I. I had poked a whole so I could see her though. She sighed at that question.

"I've already told you Sky, there is no other school for us." She said the same thing earlier when I asked the same question. I thought maybe saying it again would receive a much nicer answer but clearly not.

I slumped back into my seat not in the mood to speak. I wasn't sure if they were crazy or was I. I figured that I'd find out eventually when we got to this school. I admit the aspect of training to be a guardian was interesting. I always enjoyed football. I could let off some steam without killing my locker in the process.

But, the fact that I was training to become a guardian to protect 'special,' humans annoyed me. This race of people; Duine Iontach as Hope had called me, protect humans but aren't recognized as a race. I only found out I wasn't a 'normal,' human, sixteen years into my life.

"Hope called me a Daoine Iontach," I reminded Grandma. "but how do you know I am one?" I questioned. It just didn't make sense to me. Why would I be one of them? Wouldn't you want someone with more of a special aura? Sure, I didn't even have any proper experience with combat or evil. Why would I be one?

"Every other Duine Iontach has green marks. You have blue dear. Through the words she said, she made it clear." Grandma vaguely answered. It seemed as though, any answer I had gotten just wasn't fitting the bill. I wanted a reasonable explanation for this.

Her answer only led me to think up of more questions. I couldn't ask about the markings on the Iontach as we pulled up next to a very fancy looking building which I assumed was the school of hell, oh excuse me the school that will enable me to save the world from evil.

The entrance were rather large grey gates that had a booth on the side. Grandma pulled up to the booth and shown her markings, which I had never seen before. He seemed to know her without her showing them. He smiled massively and pressed the red button, making the gates to pull apart and allowing us to enter. This would be interesting, I thought.

Then we were up close and personal with this magical building. This whole situation reminded me of my favourite books Harry Potter. "You're a wizard Harry," Hagrid had told the eleven year old. At least he was given a birthday cake and a little entertainment. His cousin Dudley had 'grown,' a tail out of the blue.

But me? I had faced the Goddess Hope and had only said one word in return. Harry took it in his stride and went to buy his supplies and went to school and adapted so easily. He lived up to his expectations. Now here I was at a school that had no magic but had a powerful presence. A statue seemed to have been placed to welcome us on our right in a garden. That statue reminded me of Mary, you know Jesus and all that jazz? Well I wasn't much of a holy person to begin with, but doesn't this just kill that religion for people?

So many questions, too many to assemble in my head before I even thought to ask. We hopped out of the car and started to walk towards the entrance. Mind you, I was still wobbly legged so Maggie had to make two runs. I suppose I could have given her a hand, but it seemed she knew about this whole Duine Iontach fiasco and never told me. I admit, a little revenge was sweet.

Seeing Maggie reminded me to ask a question. "So if I'm here for training, what are you doing here puny human? Won't they smite you with all their glorious weaponry?" I half-joked. Who knew what these people were like. But then I looked to my Grandma who was chatting away with a tall blonde woman. I guess the word beautiful was ruined for me, after seeing Hope. But this woman was pretty. I was surprised I didn't notice her presence in the room earlier.
