I was distracted by a knock on the door.

"Emma? you in there? Is everything all right?" said a concerned voice.

"Tarren? yea I'm alright I'll out in a bit ya?"

Mia came barging in the hospital room and raised her eyebrows looking at our awkward position.

"Alright, lovebirds lets leave the hellhole already!"

"Yea but wait, Tarren what were you telling?"

"Hey, how ya doing? You doing good? bad?- oh, that's great-i need to borrow my best friend for a few minutes. If you don't mind- Oh wait, You don't? that's sweet." Mia said all in one breath, pulling oh wait no not pulling, dragging away from Tarren's reach outside the room.

"But hey I just started talking," said a pouting Tarren.

Just a small glance of his adorable pout made my heart skip a beat.

Jeez, cheesy much eh?

"Alright spill the beans"

Disapproval gleamed in her eyes.

"ya know, the beans you're hiding from your bfff!"

"And oh that's totally against the girl code!" Mia said in an accusing manner.

"We have a girls code?" I said blinking with feigned innocence.

"Babe seriously spill it! You know I'm a curious ass right!"

"Babe I don't have any coffee or drink to spill right now"

"This is a stupid game" she grumbles.

She's clearly grouchy only because she's losing.

"yeah? Well you have a stupid face, not that I'm complaining"

I assure you shes rolling her eyes at the back of my head.

"Alright, babe calm your dogs I'll tell you the first thing tomorrow ya?

did I mention dogs? oh sorry forgot to tell ya peeps Mia loves dogs more than humans, more than herself! she'd take a bullet for them without even batting her eyes.

Her eyes beamed with joy as she nodded her head frantically.

I pack my bags and get ready to go to my house when I turn to see Tarren's brows knitted in a frown.

"what's wrong?" I asked.

"I thought I was taking you back home?"

"Who said you aren't?"

he cocked a brow in surprise.

"Then mia?"

"oh, no she'll go in her car with Joey!"

He grinned at my response and held out his hand.

I held my hands in his and we left the room to his car.
