It seemed stupid for me to do this but here I am standing in front of the mirror with my best friend and getting ready to the place where Adhi invited us.

"Who's this client of yours throwing the party?" She asked as she applied eyeliner on my eyelids.

"Um...you know that person as well" I told her, my stomach flipping and my heart hammering against the chest. Hooking my best friend up for the first time seems comical but at the same time it's not. He said he'll show his sincerity today and wanted me to bring her along.

"I know her?"

She stopped applying and I opened my eyes as slits, not wanting to rub it all over my lids.

"Him. It's a male. A-Adhi" I whispered  shuddering inside but she just looked at me, unable to get the idea behind it.

"The guy who we met at your treat?" She asked doubtfully.

"Yes. So shall we?" I got up the bed and pulled her hand in mine nervously. She put the eyeliner tube away and clutched my hands nodding excitedly. Thank God she didn't bombard me with any other questions. I hope this goes well.

As we got down my apartment, I noticed a man in a black driver uniform standing in front of a limo. "Please Ma'am" he ushered us into the it. The car was sleek and the leather inside depicted it's range. Dhruvi started appreciating the interior while I checked my phone anxiously. I didn't know what he had planned nor did he say anything to me. I silently prayed to God that it should not disappoint her because I have no idea about him. He talked to me the other day about his background but that wasn't helping me to know him. He's rich kid and yeah, had a decent degree that doesn't do any help to his family business of course. Upon asking how he got to know Dhruvi he just said that he saw her quite a few times in clubs and other parties. His father is trying to find him matches only for business itseems but he thinks he wants his marriage made out of love. I wasn't sure whether I was impressed but here I am now, taking her somewhere he wanted her to be. The glass of champagne I had before dressing up was rising up my throat because of the fear.

"We reached ladies" the chauffeur announced as we entered a gated villa. It was so big and beautifully lit with lights. He didn't drive to the main entrance rather he took another way which led to the back of the villa. As the car came to a halt, I took my trembling legs to get down out of it. Dhruvi was excited to see all the décor that lit the way. "This looks amazing" she gasped as a person who looked more like a hotel waiter handed her a bunch of balloons floating in the support of ribbons. She eagerly took it and waved at me. I smiled at her but it didn't reach my eyes. All I was wondering was if this goes south, I'm getting her out of this place and slap him next time I see him.

A message chimed in my mobile and I quickly took it aside as she was still in daze with the mind-blowing place.
'Bring her in. There's no need to worry' the message said. I took a couple of deep breaths thinking let's do this and turned to her asking,

"Shall we go in?"

She beamed at me nodding happily like a kid going to amusement park. As we entered the arch that was covered with flowers, we came across a man who had a big plate with him. He came to us and opened the cover over the plate. I heard her gasp and my attention caught the item on it. It is her favourite cake.

"Oh my god! It's my favourite flavor!" She squealed.

"It's all yours ma'am" the man grinned and gave her a piece of it. She tasted it and turned to me faking a cry. "This is the best I've ever tasted" unable to control my laughter I let it out. The next stall had her favourite chocolates and the next with her favourite mango ice-cream. Shoes, clothes, some pics of places where she had been and what not. And like that we finished a round going to almost ten stalls having the things she liked the most. When we reached the last one, there was no one but a envelope. She gestured me to open it and I did.
