but what if it was all a dream?

Chapter 2

Katara started packing while Aang was getting Appa ready for the long flight ahead. It was fast and easy for Katara to pack their things, they were on the move a lot because of Aang and his duties, but they mostly stayed in the inner ring of Ba-sing-sae.

They had left for Ember Island early, it was a long trip ahead, and they were bored out of their minds.

Katara and Aang started to recite memories they both had of the gang.

"Remember when Zuko told us HE was the one to send Sparky Sparky Boom Boom after us?" Aang recited, "You were furious,"

Katara chuckled at the nickname her brother had created, it had been a while and she deprecated missed her brother, "I can;t believe you still call him that."

"Heyy! Zuko never told us his real name, we can only assume," Aang grinned looking back at Katara's laughter, he always loved it.

Katara laid on Appa's saddle and slowly started to doze off.

Aang smiled and thought of joining her. Appa was more than capable of flying them to Ember Island. However Aang decided to stay awake, that memory evoked thoughts in his head.

Aang started whispering to himself, softly. These thoughts were private to him. He started, "Why did Katara choose me? I was a twelve year old boy. I was dumb and crazy. Once Zuko was on our side did she...?" Aang was insecure and Toph knew it. He had confided in Toph when they were traveling. There wasn't any way he could have hid it from the top.

Aang knew Katara loved him but still why him, could it have been because of his name? He was the Avatar, did that affect Katara? Aang had always given her the chance to leave if she didn't like it, but she stayed.

He smiled at himself. He too started to feel his eyes get heavy, and let Appa fly them there.

Appa had growled waking up Aang halfway. In the distance he saw Ember Island.

"Katara," Aang started calmly, "We're almost there."

Katara groaned, "Do I have to, I had a dream about meeting the gang."

Aang smiled, "Well then I guess I'll have to see the gang by myself."

Katara shot up,after figuring out where she was she spoke, "It wasn't a dream was it?"

Aang shook his head in response. Katara squealed and hugged Aang, she thanked him for letting her meet all of her friends.

"Your? Last time I remember this group happened because of me, soo I feel there is a need to edit what you just said Sifu Katara," She blushed, "our friends."

"Our friends ," Katara said, smiling.

A few short kisses later Appa had landed himself on the shores of Ember Island.

"Huh, I guess we are early," Aang stated, not seeing a Fire Nation ship yet. Aang airbending them off and they made their way to Avatar's villa.

"I guess we have some time to ourselves," Katara said giggling.

"One step ahead of you," Aang said as he guided his girlfriend to the bedroom.
