Alliyah woke up to find her legs and hands bounded together inside of a dark, damp cell. She felt weak, as if her body was giving up on life.

It didn't take long for her to recognize the symptoms of the virus.

The feeling of nausea overcame her senses letting Alliyah know that she was in the second stage of the virus.

One more stage and I'm toast, she thought with dread.

The cell door opened to reveal a soldier holding a poor soul's body and threw him inside as if he was garbage before moving him to the opposite wall and cuffed him.

"Get in here hero and watch as your lover dies in front of you," the same soldier that took her said.

"You don't have to treat him like that!" she said trying not to upset her stomach.

"I don't have to listen to a soon to be dead girl," the soldier commented before leaving and slamming the cell door closed.

"Hey, are you alright?" She slowly asked with much effort as her body began to fail.

"Alliyah," the prisoner spoke out with a cough.

"How do you know my name?" Alliyah asked with a tinge of fear.

"I'm here, my love,"

"Seth?"

"Yes, are you alright?"

"Not for long, I was infected with the virus,"

"I'll make them, pay," Seth promised with a hard cough before he vomited.

"No, they infected you too?" she sobbed with frustration knowing that the cure was developed but forever out of reach.

A shiver began to overtake her body with the feeling of pure ice coursing through her veins. It began to become agonizing bringing a blood-curdling scream out of her mouth.

"Alliyah, Alliyah, what's happening?"

"Final..stage..of...virus taking...effect," she struggled to say.

"No, you can't die on me, we're meant to be together forever," Seth struggled to say before blood started falling from his nose.

"I ..found...the.cure...but...they...destroyed...it, she continued after vomiting, forgive...me...I...broke...my...promise,"

"I should be apologizing, I wasn't supposed to be dying especially in front of you," he said while coughing up blood as she sadly observed her love began to wither away.

"I forgive you, Seth and I love you,"

"I love you till eternity,"

"If there is a heaven, will I see you?" Alliyah said with cold tears falling down her face.

"You will see me near the gates," He vowed with a wheeze and cough

"Cross my heart?"

"Hope to live," He promised with his eyes turning a strange shade of blue that reminded her of flames. All of a sudden, he slowly stood up from the ground and could easily break the bonds from his hands.

"Seth, what is happening to you?"

"I feel strong," Seth explained while his body began to fill in the wrinkles that were etching his body.

"That's unbelievable, how is that possible?"

"The soldier shot me with a dart that was covered with he thought was the virus explaining that it personally came from you,"

"But that can't be unless..." Alliyah looked down on her lab coat.

"What is it?"

"Check out my pockets, I might've left another syringe inside by accident,"

With confusion, he checked inside of the pockets to discover that the syringe was missing.

"I thought you were practicing in not putting sharp objects back in your pockets since that switchblade incident?" He asked with concern while breaking the bonds on her arms and legs.

He easily caught her and kept Alliyah close to his body as the shivers died down a moment.

"You feel so warm, Shen,"

"Alliyah, the syringe?"

"Heh, I guess old habits die hard, the jerk soldier must've thought I held the actual virus in my pockets," She weakly laughed as her shivers started to take over her body.

"Hang on, Alliyah, don't die yet!" Seth said out of desperation.

Seth cut a wound deep enough for blood to flow and knew it was a long shot but what choice did he have at this present time.

"Drink, my love," he brought her face to his wound.

"Seth, what are you...!"

"Drink!"

He hissed as Alliyah latched on his wound and absorbed his blood until Seth moved her away from his wrist. With great relief, her body began to calm down from the shivers and she began to open her eyes.

"Seth..."

"How do you feel?"

"I feel strangely better,"

"I'm so glad, I thought you were going to..."

"It's alright, it seems that we kept both of our promises,"

"You mean that I kept myself alive?"

"And I developed a cure to supply with everyone,"

"How is that?"

"It's simple, with just a sample of your blood, we'll be able to cure everyone," Alliyah explained as she managed to stand up on her own two feet.

"I just love that brain of yours," he said in wonder before kissing her with want.

"Thank you but we have just one problem,"

"Which is?"

"How are we going to escape?" she asked when hearing a soldier beginning to open their cell.

"Leave that to me, my love," Seth grinned with his fangs poking out in anticipation.
