My eyes opened from my deep slumber, slowly and groggily. They felt heavy as they opened, but once I could see clearly, my heart melted. In front of me was Kailen, who had his hand stroking my hair, and his legs entangled in mine. He stared at me with a soft smile, one that made my heart flutter.

I wondered if this was a dream, my time here had never been so perfect. There was no way that I was really sharing my mates bed, nor was it possible that his cold exterior was nowhere to be seen. I had to still have been dreaming.

But once I felt his hand stroke my face gently, I knew that this was real. His soft hand glided against my face, brushing over my lip. It sent tingles through me when he did this, even though it was so simple. He looked me in the eyes, before speaking to me.

"You know how beautiful you are?"

This question made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside...And something else that I couldn't explain. Maybe it was extreme happiness? I wasn't sure, since I hadn't felt it before. Whatever it was, I wanted it to stay.

I hid my face in his neck, and Kailen pulled me closer. I felt his hands rest on my waist comfortably, sending another round of tingles through me. This was the most intimate I had been with anyone. No one had ever done anything to me or with me. Nobody wanted to. I had never been kissed or cuddled with.

So this was a completely new feeling for me.

I pulled myself away from Kailen just slightly, so I could see him.

"How long have you been up?" I asked, looking at his phone which read 8am.

"Couple hours," He replied.

I was embarrassed to find out that he'd been staring at me for the past couple hours, watching me sleep. What if I had drool? Or what if I farted? I knew he would never tell me if I did, but it still sat in my mind.

I tried to shake away my embarrassment as Kailen smiled at me.

"You talk in your sleep," He stated, "It was adorable."

Yup. The embarrassment hit. I once again hid my face in his neck, and then something strange happened.

He kissed my forehead.

But that wasn't the strange part—Not even close.

The strange part was that the weird feeling I felt earlier was growing even larger, to the point that I felt as if I would explode from whatever it was. I was tingling with joy at this, and while I hid my face, I had no clue what was happening.

My body felt warm and light. It was as if I was floating through space. That was the only way I could describe the happiness I was feeling, I had never felt this way before.

"Estrella," Kailen said. His stunned voice caused me to pull back, and I was ready to ask what it was that surprised him, until I saw it with my own eyes.

I was glowing—Literally glowing like a star.

A bright, light purple light filled the room, and I stared at my limbs in surprise. I didn't expect to be able to glow, and I certainly didn't know what was causing it. Was it just because I was happy? No, it couldn't be. I had been happy here a few times and never once did I glow.

Could it have been because of Kailen? Did it have something to do with the mate bond? Now, that didn't seem so far fetched. Maybe I only glowed when Kailen gave me affection.
