"Jodie, we just going to the sto' to pick up a couple things. Why you getting cute like you going on a date?" Tanya grills me from the doorway.
Me and my girls are going to the mall real quick go pick up some last minute things to make sure we looked our best tonight for the party. Of course, they let me sleep in and now they wanna rush me out of the bathroom.
"Girl I'm coming!" I finish putting on my lipgloss and walk out of the bathroom and mug them all. "Y'all didn't wake me up on time and have the nerve to be rushing somebody."
"Wake up on time next time," Angela teases and yanks me out of the hotel room.
"Y'all acting like the mall closes in the next five minutes," I grumble.
"Anyway," Tanya sings "What's the look for tonight girls? Thirsty thots or casual baddies?"
"I say causal baddies. This is just a college party," I answer her.
"Yeah, save the thot boots for the club or the sugar daddies." Angela jokes and we all laugh and agree.
We get outside of the hotel and into our Uber to the mall. Im trying not to think about Marquis right now. Honestly, I don't know why I am tripping or wasting my time thinking about him. If he was that okay with being so rude to me, then I mean less to him than I thought.
"You better not be thinking about that ol' raggedy boy," Angela nudges my shoulder lightly.
I sigh and shake my head. "I'm just annoyed that he was so okay with disrespecting me like that."
"Well," Sierra chimes in, "I'm not one for the petty games, but we are buying you a sexy ass outfit and you're going to post on snapchat, have a little fun. And if he tries to text you or anything, dub him." Sierra smiles.
"Ugh, y'all know I'm above doing that childish shit." I groan.
"Look girl, these niggas are dirt half of the time, sometimes you have to treat them like a toy, especially when they deserve it." Tanya shrugs. "Don't think about it too much."
I sigh "I guess you're right."
After walking through the mall for almost three hours, we all found our outfits. Angela and Tanya were in charge of putting my outfit together and I have to admit, I was going to be a huge problem in this outfit. I wasn't one for being petty and childish to get my boyfriend's attention, but Marquis had me fucked up, so hopefully this will be the first and last time I have to reveal the tricks I have up my sleeve.
We ate food at the food court, now we made our way back to the hotel to chill and roll up with the boys.
"Took y'all long enough," Dace grills us and pushes us inside of their hotel room.
"Nigga, we gotta look good for the college boys tonight." Angela smiles and starts to dance to music that's not even playing.
"Please, these college boys are not checking for y'all." Dace chuckles.
"Well, I'm checking for them," Sierra jokes. Dace shoots her a hard glare for a second, then quickly recovers. He brings his attention to his phone.
"Did you see that?" Sierra whispers and nudges me. "My boo a lil jealous,"
"Ugh, y'all are sick," I roll my eyes and sit down on the foot of the bed. While everyone starts cutting up, I pull out my phone and see I have no notifications from the one person I want to hear from.
My anxiety starts to act up and I fight the urge to throw my phone across the room. I can't let him get the best of me, but I really can't believe he's switching up on me like this.
Orion comes out of the bathroom and sits next to me, "What has you in distress?" He asks me with a. sympathetic smile.
I sigh and shrug, "Nothing, nothing that should be worth my time."
Orion sucks his teeth and locks my phone, "Don't spend this weekend worrying about anyone who isn't worrying about you. He's showing you how he really feels about you, so act accordingly." He says assertively.
I look at him, surprised that he is being so kind about this. "Yeah, you're right actually. It's just hard- I'm really feeling him. Like he hasn't even done anything to show he is sorry,"
Orion sucks his teeth, "Dub him," He looks me in the eyes and offers a small smile. "Cmon, ion wanna see you pouting anymore this weekend."
I smile, "Okay, but I can't make any promises," He looks at me and gives me a sweet smile. His smile is really nice. Before I could say anything, Tanya interrupts us.
"Uh, uh what y'all over here smiling about?" Tanya interjects with an evil smile.
"My stupid ass boyfriend," I grumble.
"Oh, so you over here offering advice, O?" Khalil asks with a smug smile. He gives Dace, Jonell and Derrick the eye.
Orion sucks his teeth, "Y'all relax," He chuckles lightly. "Jodie was here looking all sad but y'all were too busy acting a fool to realize so I helped her pick her head back up."
"Mhmmm," Angela jokes.
"You all need a life," I say annoyed.
After we spend a few hours chilling, we all finally finish getting dressed to go to the party.
