This is mostly Prinxiety but there's some Logicality
Patton Hart was very social. It made sense that he was Virgil Storm's only friend. He was social enough to notice that Virgil sat alone every day at lunch. So he befriended him. He spent lots of time with him because all his other friends had people to spend time with when he wasn't around. Virgil happened to be obsessed with the most popular boy in school. Roman Prince. He hated the fact that he was obsessed with him, but there was nothing he could do. Patton wanted to get them together so bad. It wouldn't be too hard, he just had to befriend Roman and then introduce him to Virgil, and he would notice his existence. Plus his best friend Logan Sanders was pretty cute in Patton's opinion. It was time to fulfill the operation, Patton had a job to do.
"Hi, I'm Patton! And you're Roman! The most popular boy in school!" He was standing next to the popular kids table.
"No you can't sit here." Roman stated.
"Oh I already have a table to sit at!" He gestured over to the table where Virgil was sitting at, oblivious to what Patton was doing. "I just wanted to be your friend!"
"Because I'm the most popular and you want to make it up in the social classes."
"No silly, because I want to know you!" He looked around to see that Logan wasn't there today. "And between you and me, also because your best friend is cute." Roman chuckled.
"Well then, I guess we could try to be friends. I can talk to you later, Patton was it?" He nodded. "And I'll make sure to introduce you to Logan tomorrow." Patton smiled and blushed lightly. He skipped over to his own table where Virgil had seemed to notice he was talking to Roman.
"Why were you talking to Roman!?"
"To help you!" Virgil sighed. He felt anxious to the core. He loved Patton, but this time he had done something that scared him. He couldn't believe that Patton would do this.
Time skip to the next day
Patton was chatting with Roman and Logan outside the school. Several people seemed very annoyed that Patton was able to befriend Roman so quickly but he didn't care. Virgil walked up to the school. He tried to avoid getting roped into it but failed.
"Roman, this is Virgil." Patton said. Roman looked at him. He was extremely cute. He couldn't believe he thought that a boy that no one had ever heard about was cute.
"Hello Virgil. Pleased to meet you." Virgil stared into Roman chocolate brown eyes. They were beautiful. He realized he was staring and looked away blushing. Luckily, he had on foundation.
"Uh, hi Roman." He avoided eye contact, scared he might get lost in Roman's chocolate eyes again. Suddenly, the bell rang. Virgil sighed in relief. He headed for the doors and walked to his first class. Oh wait. His first class was with Roman. And now that Roman knew of his existence it would be much more difficult for him to keep his crush a secret.
Once lunch rolled around, Patton said he was going to go sit by Roman and Logan and he should join them. Virgil knew that he had to, he didn't want to be lonely. Patton and Virgil sat down.
"Who are they?" Remy asked.
"These are Patton and Virgil." Roman responded.
"Oh Emile knows Patton but I don't think he's ever heard of a Virgil."
"No one ever really has." Virgil muttered.
"What about me Virgil?" Patton asked. He looked around and realized that he said that loud enough for everyone to hear.
"Besides you Patton." Roman was looking at him sympathetically. He felt bad because only one person had ever cared enough to go up and talk to him, and he was really nice.
As the weeks went by, Virgil became closer with Roman. His existence was known throughout the school, but it wasn't exactly positive. But he didn't mind. Sometimes he would hang out with only Roman after school. Today was a day just like that. Roman was lying on his back, his head hanging off of Virgil's bed. Virgil was on the ground trying to convince him to flip around to keep the blood from rushing to his head.
"Roman, you're going to faint!" Roman still didn't flip over. "Fine, be like that." Roman thought he had won, but Virgil just dragged him off the bed. They both broke out laughing. After their laughing fit, they just lied there and relaxed. Virgil looked over and saw Roman's lips. They were lightly tinted pink and slightly glittery because he put on some lipgloss. He gave him a quick peck before covering his lips in embarrassment. Roman looked at him with wide eyes.
"What was that?"
"Nothing!" Virgil hopped up and ran out of the house. Roman followed after him. Luckily, Roman was on track, so he was able to catch up to him. He grabbed his arm. Virgil turned to him, tears streaming down his cheeks.
"Virgil, please talk to me." Virgil's plum purple eyes stared into Roman's chocolate brown ones.
"Don't you get it? Patton didn't become friends with you because he wanted to be. He became friends with you to help me with my...my crush on you. And now you probably hate me so I'll leave your life forever."
"Virgil, of course I don't hate you." Virgil placed Roman's hand to his cheek. His eyes were glossy and his bottom eye lids were puffy and red. "C'mon, let's head back inside." Roman led Virgil back to his house and into his room. Virgil went to the bathroom and threw some water in his face and he was in a better place.
"So, do you want to talk about it or something?" Virgil asked.
"I only have one thing to ask you. Do you want to come to the dance with me?"
"Wait, what?"
"Let me rephrase." Roman pulled Virgil in and kissed him, it lasted a few seconds before Roman pulled away.
"Sure I'll go to the dance with you. But why me?" Virgil asked.
"Because as I've talked to you more I've realized how much I like you. I just thought you'd never like me, the most popular boy in school back." Virgil smiled and pulled him in for another kiss.
"Then you thought wrong."
It was the night of the dance. Virgil had on a leather dress with knee high dr. Martins, fishnet stockings, and fingerless gloves. He looked pretty good.
"Virgil, your date is here." His mom yelled.
"Coming!" He rushes down the stairs to find Roman in a red tux with a white undershirt and gold bow tie.
"Shall we go, emo kitten?"
"Of course princey." They walked out to Roman's car. They hopped in and drove away to the dance
The gym was jam packed with people. They spotted Logan and Patton in the crowd. Logan was wearing a blue suit and black tie, and Patton was wearing a light blue dress with light gray knee high socks and the same light blue flats. They were dancing and Roman and Virgil decided not to bother them. They danced and laughed all night, Roman occasionally being hit on by some girl but nothing too bad. At the end of the night, it was time for the final dance. Roman was obviously picked and now he had to pick his partner. All the girls squealed with anticipation as he went onto the stage.
"Tonight I am picking someone who most of you had never noticed existed. They always sat alone at lunch, and everybody thought nothing of it. But then I was a friend of mine introduced me to them, and I became closer with them. So, Virgil Storm, may I have this dance?" Virgil walked up to the stage and grabbed his hand, leading him to the middle of the dance floor. They swayed to the music, every girl and gay boy watching on with envy. They danced on and at the end of the dance, Roman asked, "Will you be my boyfriend?" Virgil began tearing up. He jump into Roman's arms.
"Of course I will!" And the next week they went on a double date with Patton and Logan. And it was cute.
