ATLEAST TWO sentences for every subdivision must be provided. One is your thoughts and the second followed by your reason, so participants can benefit from the review. For one shot, please be more lenient as they usually have word limits and cannot cram in more details, but it is the same criteria.

ROUND 1 CRITERIA: OUTER EFFECTS AND CHAPTERS 1-2 ( INITIAL IMPRESSIONS)

Title /10

How original is the title? How interesting is it? Does it immediately catch your eye? Does it pertain to the genre? Does it correspond with the story?

Description/Blurb /10

Does it give you a good idea of the story or is too vague? Does it make you want to open up the book? Does it correspond with the story?

Cover /10

Does the cover look appealing? Do you want to pick up the book based on the cover? Does it correspond with the story?

Plot /15

Is the plot moving too slow or too fast? Is there a balance of narration and dialogue? Does every chapter further the plot?

Characterization /15

Are the characters 3-dimensional? Do they feel realistic? Do they portray emotions well? Do they stick out/memorable? Can you feel them popping to life in your head?

Creativity/Originality /10

Is the plot original and creative or too ridden with cliches ( a few is acceptable btw)? How about the characters? Basic or unique?

Spelling & Grammar /10

Is proper grammar employed, with capitalization and punctuation? Is the prose easy to read or riddled with mistakes?

Enjoyability /10

Was the story enjoyable and hooking? Did you want to read more?
