The community college that I go to has vending machines, a cafe, and a bookstore. 4 year universities have cafes for students who live on campus. If you live on campus, you should have a mini fridge so you can have water or other beverages in your dorm room.
I find it easier to have money on me because if I run out of water (if water fountains are not working) I can get something to drink. Or if I forgot to bring something to eat, I can have get something to eat in a vending machine. I try to eat before classes so that way I am paying more attention to the teacher and what I have to be learning.
