"Why do you listen to her?" Zack asked
"What do you mean?"
"You say all this stuff about getting out of here and ignoring everything she says but yet you listen to her" Zack mumbled
"She's my mother, I have to listen to her"
"No you don't, you can't let what someone thinks of you ruin the person you want to be"
"What she thinks of me is all I have Zack, it's not that easy to ignore my mother's order" I mumbled
"You're seriously gonna let that woman control who you get to be with?" Zack asked
"..I-"
"Exactly, now you see how stupid it is" He spat
"Zack, you have to understand-"
"I can't understand. I refuse to understand that you'll let our mother tell you who you can and can't fall in love with" Zack hissed
"We're under her roof, under her care, under her name. We can't do as we please without having consequences Zack"
"I understand that Mia, but I expected your mindset to be strong"
"Maybe when I get out of this house, I'll date who I want"
"Like Dani?" he asked, his eyes flung to mine as he raised a brow. The stinging sensation came to cheek as they blushed red
"Who said anything about Dani?" I mumbled
"Oh come on, the tension between you two is thicker than thanos" Zack rolled his eyes. I chuckled at him
"I don't know what you're talking about"
"Yesterday in class you couldn't keep your eyes off her. What's holding you back?"
"Um... Well I'm going on a date with cha-"
"Chad isn't good for you" Zack said bluntly
"Oh, so you get to decide who I'm with now?" I asked
"No, but I'm being a brother and looking out for your heart. He's just a jock looking for a nut. Literally." Zack said
"You don't know that"
"Oh for fuck sakes Mia, you haven't talked to him in years. People can change into the worse demons out there in such little time. You'd think it's a unreal"
"I talked to him last week-"
"You said hi, he said date, you said yes. Wow, such a deep meaningful conversation you both had" Zack glared.
And with that, a rage was burning through my veins lightly. My eyes narrowed to him as I folded my fist
"You know, you can be a jerk sometimes" I mumbled
"Comes with the package" he said, my eyes glanced at him
"I'm heading downstairs. See you in the car" I muttered before getting up from his bed. My hands gripped the doorknob and I slammed it shut. Unfortunately it was too loud and I cringed at the sound, knowing exactly what's coming next.
"Who the hell slammed that door in my house!" My mother yelled
"Sorry Mama" I squealed out
"Mia! Get down here, that's the second time you've done that!" She hissed. I groaned and made to way down the stairs
