2. Safe For Now

"She's still uncounsious."

"No sign of injuries."

"We'll question her once she wakes up,"

Voices were heard around me and I groaned in pain as I slowly opened up my eyes. Unfamiliar faces looked down at me and I heard someone shout, "Ah! She's awake!"

I rose up slowly from a couch I lied on and looked both ways and realized I was still in my apartment. Shock washed over me as I remembered what happened to me. I panicked and stood up, wanting to run out of there. "Hey girl, calm down, your safe for now." Said a young man dressed as a police officer. I slowly calmed myself down and nodded. I cleared my throat and asked him, "Where's the burglar?"

"We don't know. He was gone when we came and you were tied up. Good thing we came just in time. Who knows what wouldn've happen to you." He explained.

I didn't say anything else but nod my head. I rubbed the back of my neck that hurt. Whoever it was, they hit hard. I was pretty sure the man was knocked out cold. No way he could've bounced back ip like that. Unless there was another person there?! I looked around my apartment-now with the lights on- I saw how messed up it looked. All of the family pictures were ruined and the couches were torn up and papers were everywhere. The whole living room was a mess. I looked away and gazed at my hands that were in my lap.

"[Surname], is there anyone you can contact to be with you?" Asked a female officer who came up to me.

I thought about it and shook my head, "No."

"Where's your parent's?"

"Uh, my dad is away on a business trip and my mom lives in Kumogakure."

The young woman frowned and looked towards her fellow officer peer. "Hm, that's a problem. I'm sorry but you have to come with us for questioning and you need to find someone who you can stay with at the time being."

I nodded, "Okay."

The two officers lead me out of my apartment and saw a crowd formed around and the other police officers were telling them to leave. I walked through the apartment complex towards the enterance where the police cars were at. I sighed and I was about to head into the back of the police car but I heard my name.

"[Name]?"

I turned my head around to see a nice black charger parked on the side of the curb. A very familiar young man walked out of the vehicle and headed my way. He gave me a smile while I frowned. I was confused, what was he doing here? His onyx eyes looked beside me at the police officers with raised eyebrows. The young man took a step forward, "And you are sir?"

"Uchiha Itachi, I'm one of [Name]-san's friends." Said Uchiha explained, still having that kind smile on his face. Well even though I didn't get along with the duck butt, I can get along with his older brother just fine. I mean, he was a lot better than Sasuke that's for sure.

"Well sorry sir, but [Surname] has to come with us for questioning," Said the young woman.

"Questioning? For what?"

"...Someone broke into my apartment." I flatly told him.

He looked at me shocked and before he could say anything, I headed inside of the

police vehicle and the two police officers went inside. The engine started and we headed off towards the police station. As we left, I looked back towards Itachi who still looked shocked. I sighed and turned back facing the front and looked out the window. This is gonna be one hell of a night.

"Thanks for the coffee and donuts!" I told the police officers as I headed out of the police station.

"Take care [Name]-chan! Don't worry, we'll catch that bastard for you!" Said the young man officer who I got along with.

"I hope so, and thanks again!" I replied.

With that, the officer, Jin, headed back inside and I walked down the small steps in the cold night. It's around 11 o'clock and I'm freezing my ass off here! What I wore wasn't really warm-well sorta-; my outfit consisted of a black crew neck long sleeve sweater that had white stars on the bottom of the shirt and I wore dark blue ripped skinny jeans and knee high brown boots. I shivered and hugged myself for warmth. What do I do now? Well I lied to the officers and said that someone was gonna pick me up but no one is. Since I can't stay at my apartment-now that it's a crime scene. I have to stay at someone else's house for a while. Who? I was thinking Naruto but I don't know considering his mom will be all over me with concern. Tenten? I don't think so. Hinata? No. Ino and Sakura, naaah. They're Sasuke's #1 fan girl's, no thanks. Damn I don't know anyone else.

"[Name]-san!"

I turned around to see Itachi came up to me. I rose an eyebrow, "Itachi? What are you doing here?"

"For you, of course. Your coming with me to my house."
