Chapter 2

Asta's POV

I woke up this morning in my own room. Man I'm so glad it wasn't a dream. But I'm not worried about that today today I want to ask Astrid how she can use magic without a Grimoire. But I can't go into the girls side of the hideout. But anyway Magna and I were walking around when we saw another girl in the doorway. "Oh there you are. Asta this is the other new recruit." Magna says. "That's so cool my name is Asta let's both try our best okay?" I hold my hand out to her but she smacks it away. "Don't touch me commoner. If you must know I happen to be a noble." Noelle says. "Wait a second why are you calling me a commer?! We're in the same squad so social standing shouldn't matter!" I yell. "Yeah! you tell her Asta!" Magna says. "Fine if you want proof then I'll show you the difference in our power." Noelle says.

Astrid's POV

I had gotten a bad feeling so I wanted to go find Asta. Once I saw him walking with Magna I knew my bad feeling wasn't something to ignore. That's when I see them arguing with Noelle the other new recruit. I don't want to get involved until I hear her say something about showing them the difference in power. I look around the corner to see her raise her hand towards Asta and she pulls out her Grimoire. That makes me jump and tackle Asta out of the way but it turns out that I didn't have to because it hit Magna. I get off of Asta and look at Noelle. I can tell she's waiting for some sort of teasing but all she gets is Magna yelling at her and she storms off. "Um Astrid? I wanted to say thanks for helping me." Asta says and I nod walking off in the other direction. A few hours later Luck and I sensed an incredibly strong amount of magic power so everyone went to check it out we saw Noelle was being overtaken by her own magic. "Well that sucks if we only had  someone who had a sword that could cut magic." Captain Yami says. Right after he says that Asta comes flying while he's caught. "Hey nice of you to drop by kid now look up there your job is to destroy that thing.", "Right! but wait how am I supposed to get up there I can't fly." Asta says. which makes the captain annoyed. "Just shut up this where you push past your limits!" Yami yells throwing Asta in the air. He screams for a few minutes but he also manages to save Noelle. But with how fast he is falling I know he'll crash so I jump into the air as I catch the both of them and falls through the portal that Finral made. "I'm alive? Oh yeah I'm alive!" Asta yells in excitement. He then looks over at me and Noelle. "Hey Astrid are you two okay? " I look up at him. "Yeah we're perfectly fine." I say even though he can probably see the ripped clothes and the spots of blood on the floor. "Wait are you sure? There's blood on the floor." He asks again. "Yeah it's fine I just had a bit of a hard landing but I'm fine." I say standing up and looking down at Noelle. "Listen it's okay that you don't know how to control your magic there are people here that will help you." I tell her and she nods. We all walk inside to go to sleep. The next morning I decided to wear a different outfit so I went into my closet. As soon as I do I hear Yokubo's voice in my head.  "Hey there Astrid I think you should wear this outfit. Then Asta really won't be able to take his eyes off of us. By the way I wasn't asking." Yokubo says as I pass out for a few moments and when I wake up I'm in this outfit.

I sigh and just walk downstairs for breakfast. "Hey guys." I say to everyone as they are now shooting me weird looks. I give them a look back saying not to ask and they all go back to the things they were doing before. Just as I sit down the captain calls for Magna and they leave. "Wait what was that about?" Asta asks. I just shake my head while facepalming. Once they get back they want to talk to the four of us. "Alright I'm giving the four of you a mission.Go to saucey village and get rid of their boar problem." Captain Yami says. He then tells the others why and sends us on our way. "Oh wait Magna since I don't have any magic powers do you think I could ride on your broom?" Asta asks him. "Fine but if you're gonna ride with me then we'll be riding in style. " Magna states very proudly and brings out his overly decorated broomstick. "Wow! That looks so awesome!" Asta yells excitedly. Noelle decides to get on the broom with them while I just have my wings appear and we all fly to the village. Once we land I sense that something is off but I ignore the feeling for now. After we finishing killing the boar we go to talk to the chief but the village is covered in a thick fog. "What the hell is going on?" Magna says. "Wow this place sure does have some strange weather." Asta says. "No Asta it's magic not the weather. So that means you can cut through it with our swords." I say summoning Ikari's sword while Asta pulls his sword out of his Grimoire and we start cutting the fog. We get to the center of the town we see the men who obviously put the fog up. "Hm Magic knights this could be a problem. Especially since we're already behind on schedule." The main guy says and I automatically remember his voice. That makes me go tense. We all start fighting since they tried to kill the innocent villagers. Noelle manages to put up a shield around all of us. But Magna can tell there's something wrong with me. "Hey Astrid are you alright?" Magna asks cautiously but when I don't answer he knows that something is wrong. "You're not Astrid it's you isn't it Ikari." Magna asks as I throw Asta into Magna's arms and when I walk out I turn into Ikari's true form. "I remember you little girl our boss did a good job making you his weapon." The main guy says. "I've also noticed that boy is like you but his potential is still unlocked so we'll fix that soon enough." He says. That's when I grab him by the throat. "Listen you piece of human scum that boy is under my protection and if your fucking group of terrorists take him from me then I will raise all hell. Me and my six other sisters and we'll make this body stronger while we're at it." Ikari says killing the men and is about to kill the last one until Magna pushes her back. "Listen you can't kill that one we need to keep him alive so he can be interrogated. So you need to calm down so Astrid can help us settle this rationally. " Magna says. Ikari ignores him and goes back to trying to kill the main guy. That's when Asta steps up to me. "Astrid? Can you hear us? You don't have to kill him." He says calmly. I look at him for a few moments and immediately go back to normal. After we finish the mission and get back to the base I run upstairs to my room before Asta can talk to me about what happened. Little did I know he was following me. "Astrid? can you tell me what that was about on the mission?" I hear him ask outside of the door. I then stand up and open it letting him come in. "The girl you saw earlier was the demon of wrath. Her name is Ikari. Her and the other six demons are the other representatives of the seven deadly sins." I tell him. " So you can control the seven deadly sins?" He asks and I shake my head. "No I can't control them it's more like all of us share the same body. It happened when I was three but luckily my dad and Vanessa saved me from the scientists and their experiments. But sadly the demons eat away my soul so every time I transform I loose a little bit of myself. But for some weird reason when you talked to me I came back sooner than I usually do." I tell him and he smiles brightly. "Well if that's  the case then I promise that when I become the wizard king I'll help make you normal again! " He says enthusiastically while giving me a hug. " But wait I do wanna know who your dad is." He says. "Oh right that would be captain Yami is my father." I say and that makes him faint from shock. I laugh while helping him into the bed and laying down to go to sleep myself.
