Chapter 6

                                                                       Astrid's POV

The next morning I woke up but Asta who was supposed to be resting but he wasn't instead he was outside training. I stand up and get ready to go talk to him so I put on my workout clothes and go outside. "Asta are you doing okay? It's five in the morning what are you doing up so early?" I ask. "Nothing important I'm just thinking about something and training helps me think even when I'm confused." He says doing his five thousand pushups and going into his five thousand situps. "Okay is there anything I could do to help? Maybe I could give you some clarity and answer a few of your questions." I say sitting down next to him. "Well one question I have would be is there any way for us to get rid of these demons." He asks planting his sword into the ground. "I don't think so at least there  not a way that I know of but I know I wish that there was I really didn't want you to be like this." I say looking down sadly. Asta shakes his head and walks over to give me a hug.  "I was asking so I would know it would be easier to find a way for us to be cured together. But since you're not to sure about it all we can do is keep searching for it and never give up hope." Asta says smiling giving me a hug. I immediately hug him back.  "Astrid and about that kiss last night what was that about?" He asks and I look up at him blushing. "Well I thought that it would help you out so that you wouldn't have to feel the effects of the first demonic transformation that you had to go through. But I think I might have been wanting to do that for a while." I say looking down mostly because I was embarrassed. That's when he lifts my face and gives a warm smile while leaning in to kiss me again. Well it was getting really close that is until my dad came outside for a smoke break. "Ahem it's nice to see the two of you being so lively this early in the morning." Yami says blowing the smoke from his cigarette while giving Asta a very intimidating glare. "Oh captain Yami I didn't see you there." Asta says trying not to be intimidated while also sweating a whole bunch. "Get lost kid, I need to talk to Astrid." Yami says as I watch Asta nod and run inside the hideout. "Was that really necessary dad?" I ask while crossing my arms. "Of course it was I mean are you sure you really wanna date the runt, Or do you like him mostly because he's a lot more like you now?" Yami asks putting out his cigarette. "It's not like that I felt a strong connection to him when we first met so I knew that he is something special, so yes I actually like him, and I'll be damned if I let anything ruin that." I say extremely close to my dads face and he nods in understanding. I nod seeing that he understands what I'm telling him. But I also can't help but feel happy that he cares about Asta and his feelings. I walk back inside. "I really do hope that what you said is right. I hope nothing ever ruins your happiness." Yami says smiling to himself as he looks up to the sky and walking back inside.  Later in the day Vanessa has discovered that me and Asta might start becoming a thing and of course she and Finral bombard both me and Asta with questions. We attempt to answer them both as we both get tired we end up leaving to go cuddle upstairs.

                                                                          Yami's POV

After watching the kids go upstairs a portal opens with a letter coming from the wizard king. As I open it I get Finral to open a portal to the castle and also tell him to send Asta and Astrid whenever they wake up. Once I get to the capital I see mushroom head waiting for me. "Hey Mushroom head what's so urgent that the wizard king couldn't handle  it himself?" I ask following him to where Julius is. "You'll see what the problem is for yourself when it's time and please sir use my real name." Marx says as he opens the door. "Ah welcome Yami I see that you got my letter but where are the other two I told you to bring." Julius asks with a concerned look.  "Don't worry so much they'll be here but before  they do can you tell me why you look so uncomfortable right now? Jeez it's even making me nervous."  I ask blowing some of the smoke from my cigarette.  "Well the mission is to protect someone but it's not a very good someone.  And by that I mean well I'll let you see for yourself." Julius says as he starts to walk towards the basement and I am able to see a woman who looks very oddly familiar. "Yami this is who you'll be protecting her name is..." Julius starts to say but before he can say her name I go ahead and say it for him. "Eden." I say in shock as she looks at me and gives a smile. Like she's actually happy to see me. This'll be one hell of a story to tell Astrid when she gets here.
