My eyes blinked open to see sunshine seeping in through the windows. I realized that I wasn't in the forest anymore. I was lying on a soft bed that I soon realized was Jisoo's. The mattress was, in fact, soft enough after all. I got up to see Jisoo over her cauldron doing some "brewing" or whatever it is witches do. I sat down in front of her, causing her attention to shift from the cauldron.

"Good, you're awake," she said. "The rain sounds must've helped."

"I guess so," I agreed. "How long was I out?"

"About three hours, give and take."

"Three hours?" My eyes widened. "How did you even bring me back here? Did you levitate me or something?"

"God, you royals have no concept of manual labor, do you?" she chuckled. "I carried you, obviously."

I froze for a few moments. The thought of Jisoo holding me in her arms made me feel a strange feeling in my stomach. It wasn't a distasteful feeling, but a longing one. I liked the idea of her holding me close to her chest as I slept peacefully. God, I hope I didn't snore.

"Well, levitating sounds cooler," I retorted.

"I'm a potions witch," she laughed. "Levitation isn't my strong suit. I can barely lift a feather, let alone a human girl."

"I don't weigh that much!" I fired back.

"You're telling me," she scoffed. "You were surprisingly light." She turned to Dalgom, who had been sitting next to her. "Dalgomie, fetch me a bottle of unicorn tears, would you?"

"He's a dog, Jisoo." I rolled my eyes. "How could he-"

I stopped, seeing him prance up to Jisoo holding a bottle of an opalescent liquid in his mouth. She took it from him and gave him a quick pat. She poured a little bit into her cauldron and gave me a look.

"You were saying?"

"Wow," I giggled. "You continue to surprise me."

"So do you," she said. "You know, today was the first time that you said 'thank you' to me. Or 'I'm sorry,' for that matter."

"I don't remember saying that," I fibbed.

"You know one thing witches are good at?" she asked. "Spotting lies."

I gulped as she moved closer to me. Her hand was placed firmly on the table in front of me. She leaned down so that we were only inches apart.

"So, tell me, princess, why are you lying to me?"

I caved at her alluring voice. "Okay, fine! I do remember saying it. I was just ashamed of it."

"Vulnerability isn't something you should be ashamed of," she noted. "Rather, it's something you should be proud of. There's strength in showing vulnerability."

"But I didn't want you to see me differently," I said. "I don't want to be this helpless damsel in distress."

"And you're not," she spoke calmly. "You're one of the toughest people I know."

"You think so?" I asked.

She ran her fingers through my hair, feeling the strands gently. I couldn't deny the fact that my heart skipped a beat at that subtle touch. I still didn't know why I got this way around her. I felt different with her than I did with all the potential suitors that I had met. They were all pretty, yes, but none of those boys even compared to this young witch.

"I know so." She smiled. "Can I take you somewhere?"

"Where?" I questioned.

She walked over to a closet that was tucked away in the corner. Out of it, she pulled a purple broomstick. I had never seen one in that color before. She turned to me with a smirk on her face.
