When Gulf ripped his hands out of the older boy's, Mew's heart felt like it was ripped to shreds.
"What do you mean? You can't do what, Gulf?" Mew followed Gulf into their house, trying to figure out what the younger meant.
"I mean I've been madly in love with you for years and every time you look at me too long, hold me too tight or take care of me too much, you think you have some sort of feelings towards me and then a week later you forget!" Gulf let out all at once, hot tears streaming down his cheeks for the second time tonight.
Mew went silent, stunned by Gulf's outburst. He tried to step closer to the younger boy, but Gulf just stepped back.
Mew sighed, "I never forgot, Gulf," another sigh. "I just never thought you would like me back. Any affection you showed me, I thought it just because you saw me as a brother, so I treated you the same."
Mew was embarrassed and ashamed that he would hide his feelings for so long. He just didn't want to lose his best friend. The best thing to ever happen to him.
Gulf was at a loss for words this time. There the boys stood; in the middle of their home, in their finest suits, crying over miscommunication.
"So you've actually liked me this whole time?" Gulf asked.
Mew nodded and looked, "I just wasn't sure if I could handle the rejection and losing you is my worst nightmare. I'm still trying to figure all this out in my head but I know that I love you and I can't lose you." The actor walked over to Gulf, wrapping his arms around the younger boy's waist, hugging him close.
Gulf hugged Mew back, holding him for a few minutes before pulling. They wiped each other's tears and couldn't help but to laugh at how silly this was.
"Promise me something P'Mew," Gulf said.
"What's that?" Mew smiled, sniffling softly.
"No matter how stupid it may seem, we will always tell each other how we're feeling. We will always communicate with each other."
"I promise."
The boys linked pinkies to seal their promise and head to bed.
-TWO WEEKS LATER-
Mew and Gulf were sitting at a small, round table waiting to audition. They had decided to audition as Tharn and Type for Tharntype the series.
Mew and Gulf were both nervous, but for entirely different reasons.
Gulf was nervous about his acting skills, but after getting help from Mew, he was way more confident that he could secure this role. Mew was nervous about running into Art, but he just focused on Gulf, trying to kick the thought of the other boy out of his head.
Their auditions went smoothly, and the boys went out for lunch afterwards. They talked about how their auditions went when Mew's phone rang. Mew picked up the call and by the way his face lit up, Gulf could've guessed what the call was about.
"Got the role?" Gulf asked, cheerily.
Mew hung up and nodded, beaming as he hugged Gulf tightly. Mew just returned to his own seat when Gulf's phone rand, and the couple exchanged a knowing look. Gulf received the same call which meant they were officially Tharn and Type.
The boys shared their excitement all the way home, racing in the house to check their emails for workshop schedule. As soon as they were calm enough to, Mew and Gulf called their parents to tell them the great news.
A few hours later, Mew was just wearing his boxers, standing at the stove, cooking them dinner. Gulf came downstairs in his boxers and a grey tank top, smiling at the sight of Mew's back. The younger boy came up behind Mew, back hugging him.
"What's my hubby making?" Gulf asked.
"Who said I was your hubby, huh?" Mew teased as he turned the burner off and turned around, holding Gulf's waist.
Gulf giggled and Mew suddenly started tickling him, "Who said I'm your hubby, huh?" They laughed.
When Mew finally stopped tickling Gulf, and Gulf calmed down, Mew had Gulf pinned to their kitchen island with his own body. Mew admired Gulf's beautiful features from their close proximity before asking quietly, "Can I kiss you?"
Instead of answering, Gulf just snaked his arms around Mew's neck, leaning in slowly. Mew help Gulf's hips, wrapping his arms around to hold the small of Gulf's back. The older boy leaned in the rest of the way, gently connecting their lips.
Their lips molded together perfectly, as they moved their mouths against the other boy's naturally. It felt as natural as breathing. It was just perfect.
Gulf pulled away, smiling and biting his lip.
"Let's eat before the food gets cold."
Mew nodded, stealing one more quick kiss, and turning around to put their food on plates.
Everything was perfect. Mew wanted to live in this moment with Gulf forever. Eating. Talking. Laughing. It was too good to be true.
Mew finally had everything he wanted.
