"It is not the most efficient way to spend his time. Thomas could be using the hours he spends on social media for an activity with more benefits, like going for a walk or shopping for groceries, which he is running very low on." The sides were, arguing isn't the right word...they were having a discussion with differing opinions on how Thomas has been spending his time. "Oh come on, Logan. It doesn't hurt for Thomas to spend some time for himself. We learned that in the last video, remember?" A tiny part of Logan wanted to literally scoff at Patton for caring about Thomas's interests now, when the father figment cared more about others before. But he didn't. He did cross his arms just a little tighter though. "Thomas needs to spend his time wisely if he is going to live a healthy, successful life." "That's not all that life is about! Sometimes you have to spend hours finding inspiration! There's nothing wrong with that." The more flamboyant side added to the conversation. Of course Roman is on that side of this. That's almost always how it works, especially on topics like this. I try to explain what's best for Thomas's life and schedule, but it is always ignored. Thomas wants to spend his life carefree...so be it then. "...I suppose you're right, Roman." Logan ducked away after he said that. He had some mental adjusting to do in his room.
Patton, Roman, and Virgil were all sitting on the couch with Thomas, watching tv. Logan joined them and sat in his usual spot. "Oh, hey Logan." Logan nodded his head as a hello to the anxious side who spoke and joined them in marathoning The Office again. After a couple episodes, Thomas's stomach growled and he groaned a little in annoyance. "I don't really feel like making food…" "Why don't you order a pizza?" Patton suggested with a smile. Everyone was expecting Logan to shoot that idea down, ornat least argue against it, but he didn't. They all looked at him, and he raised an eyebrow. "What?" "You aren't gonna say it's bad for my health or something?" Thomas asked, clearly confused by Logan's lack of response. "A pizza every now and then isn't an issue." All of the others smiled at that, either a lot (Patton) or a little (Virgil) and Thomas ordered his favorite type of pizza. He deserved a treat for... living life? He just wanted that kind of pizza.
It was another video, a smaller one. Thomas was being indecisive. He wanted to see a movie, but he had a lot of work to do. And for some reason, he just couldn't decide. He summoned the sides, and had a discussion with them about it. No one really noticed, but Logan's tie wasn't tied as straight (gay) or a neatly as before, and it was loose. His shirt had some wrinkles. Even his hair wasn't as nice as it usually is. "Logan, you're my logic. You do my scheduling and everything, what do you think I should do?" Logan looked over to Thomas with just his eyes. "Thomas, you're a productive person. You will get your work done before it's due. And it only makes sense to take breaks every so often. Working too hard can cause a decrease in productivity." Yet again, they were surprised by Logan's answer. But they didn't mind. That meant Thomas could relax, which is good!
"Logan, I'm glad you're relaxing a bit and not being as strict with Thomas anymore." Patton said it out of the blue. He had come into Logan's room to see if his slipper was there (it wasn't). "Well, Thomas wants to live a more casual lifestyle. I shouldn't stand in the way of that." Patton just smiled so wide. "Thanks, Logan." Patton left feeling giddy, happy that Logan was finally going to take it easy on Thomas, and the rest of the sides too.
After a few days, Thomas wasn't being productive almost at all. Logan had stopped really giving his input, only being around at all when he was summoned, and all that piled up work was making Virgil, and therefore Thomas, unbelievably anxious. They both felt like they were going to break down at any second. Thomas knew he needed help, so he summoned the sides. But when he saw Logan, he just about lost his mind. Logan wasn't wearing his tie anymore. It was just untied and hanging on his shoulders. His hair was an absolute mess. His shirt wasn't even buttoned, and the collar was halfway sticking up. He looked...wrong. "Logan, are you okay?" Logan raised an eyebrow. "Yes? I'm just following your lead, Thomas." Logan walked into the kitchen and pulled out a bag of chips. "Did you know that barbeque chips were the first type of flavored potato chip? Also, the most popular potato chip flavor in America is plain, followed by barbeque, and then sour cream and onion." He ate some chips from the doorway into the kitchen as the others tried to figure out what was going on. "You all should stop. Everything works out in the end. It always does. Just let everything figure itself out." He ate another handful of chips, pieces landing in the carpet. "Logan... Logan's right. Let's just..focus on the work. We cram all the work in at once and it'll be fine! Right?" Thomas asked the rest of the sides, who all looked rather uneasy (except Logan). "This is a bad idea." Virgil muttered. "Yeah, but it's the best idea I have." "Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. And Brussels in the capital of Belgium. Facts." Virgil pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "We need to fix him." "I like this new Logan. Sure, he makes messes like a slob, but at least we can focus our energies on what Thomas wants to do instead of Logan shutting down every idea." Roman argued. "No, kiddo, I..I think Virgil's right. Logan isn't okay like this-" "Camels don't store water in their humps. There's fatty tissue instead so camels can go months without eating. Oh, I'm out of chips." Logan went back to the fridge, accidentally spilling ketchup on the floor but not really caring. "But how do we fix him?" Thomas asked. "I...I don't know. Logan?" "Yeah?" He called from the kitchen. "Do you know why you're acting like this? I thought you were my logic?" Logan froze and frowned for a moment before sauntering over to his usual spot, leaning against the stairs beside him. "I'm your carelessness, actually. And, I did it because you want to live a more casual life. I figured I should fit in instead of being the one standing in your way." Logan closed his eyes as he spoke, his arms just hanging at his sides. "Wait...what? You changed because you…" "Wanted to fit in. Mmhmm." Thomas, as well as the other sides, were at a loss for words. "I... I'm not sure what to do here, actually." "Then it's a good thing I'm here." Everyone heard Janus's voice before they saw him appear in Logan's normal spot, since the no-longer-logical side was practically laying inside the stairs. "Why are you here Jack the Fibber?!" Roman asked loudly. "Because believe it or not, I'm the only one who can fix this besides Thomas, here. And he isn't having any trouble whatsoever." Janus turned to the person beside him and literally lifted him up to his feet. He wipes the crumbs off, fixed his shirt, tie, and hair, and made Logan look like his normal self again. "Logan, I'm going to be honest with you. Thomas needs you back to normal. Without you being there to corral these morons, Thomas will end up being a lazy slob who never gets anything done. And I know that deep down, you don't want that. So you need to fix your mindset right now and get Thomas back on track before he ends up homeless in a ditch somewhere." Logan, he was silent for several moments. It looked like he was thinking. At least he cared enough to think. "...if...if Thomas is going to finish his work, he needs to start now." Logan, as if by magic, looked like his normal, neat self again, and he started writing on a clipboard he summoned. He quietly spoke to himself as he scheduled the next few hours so Thomas could work properly and get enough breaks to still function. And he didn't notice, but the others were happy to see Logan back to his normal self.
