"Okay, so before we go in..." Lindsey began, holding the keys to his apartment. "I've done some redecorating, because I know you didn't really like, how everything looked before, but if you still don't like it, we can redo it again."

Stevie tilted her head to one side, smiling at him lovingly. She gently squeezed his upper arm, before clasping both her hands on her eight month pregnant belly. "I'm sure, I'll love it. You didn't have to change it for me."

"No, I did. The place needed freshening up anyway." He said, putting the key into the lock. "Alright, come on in."

It wasn't that Stevie didn't like Lindsey's apartment, when she first saw it, she just didn't really like the idea that he'd lived there with Katherine before. She didn't tell him then, but she had a feeling that he knew.

"Oh, wow." Stevie seemed genuinely surprised. "When you said, you've done some redecorating..."

"Well, yeah. That might have been misleading."

The apartment looked completely different. The whole kitchen was redone, the living room and the bedroom had new furniture, which might have been more to Stevie's taste than Lindsey's. He commented on everything that had been changed as they walked together from room to room and while Stevie listened, she was more focused on how excited he was talking about it. Redecorating was just a word, it represented a new start for them more than anything.

"I think you've done a wonderful job, Linds."

"Yeah? Honestly?" Lindsey asked, still a little nervous.

"Honestly." Stevie nodded, giving him a quick peck on the lips, when they stopped by a closed door to the room, which Lindsey said could be the nursery. "Any reason we're not going in there?"

"We will in a second." He said. "I haven't got to do this before. Katherine was the one, who wanted things the way she liked them. So, I may have gotten a bit excited and made the nursery my project."

"That's so sweet." Stevie smiled, putting her hand on the door handle. "May I?"

"Of course, please." Lindsey nodded, taking a deep breath. "Again, you're allowed to change anything the way you want to."

"Would you relax?" She kissed him, lingering for a moment, before opening the door at last.

The nursery was beautiful. Since they knew that they were having a boy, Lindsey had chosen the color blue for the walls, which Stevie thought resembled his eyes. The crib and the changing table were white as was the rocking chair in the corner. Lindsey had even changed the drapes, from dark brown ones into pale purple, matching the carpet. There was a bookshelf, already full of books, for nighttime stories, he said. A mountain of stuffed toys, some bigger, the others smaller occupied another corner of the room.

"I- I love this." Stevie said, chewing on her bottom lip. It wasn't a hard task, getting emotional lately. "My God, Lindsey... You've really done a fantastic job." She placed her hands over Lindsey's, when he hugged her from behind, pressing a kiss to her hair. "Our baby boy's going to be the happiest kid in the world, when he understands, what toys actually are."

Lindsey chuckled, nodding his head. "Yeah, I couldn't help myself. The room looked empty."

Stevie turned in his embrace and wrapped her arms around his neck, Lindsey's hands moving up and down her back. "You're... you're amazing. I love you."

"I love you." He smiled, pressing his lips to hers. He then pulled back a little. "When I said that if I could, I would give you the world... this is just the beginning."

Stevie cocked her head back, trying to prevent the tears from falling, but she couldn't hold them for too long. "You're making me cry."

"As long as those are happy tears."

"They are. They are." She repeated, kissing him again. "You've already given me, what I've always wanted the most." She said, her hand on her belly. "You made me a mother to our son."
