Balthazar continues on the path thinking about what happened and how he failed to see where he was wrong. He kept trying to think back so hard that he finally figured it out. Dergis was acting and pushing me to go to Jarrok this whole time.
Suddenly, he heard voices behind him moving closer. Balthazar moves swiftly but quiet as he runs to find an exit. The shouting, still getting closer and not too far behind, started to get more distant. Balthazar stops to get a quick rest leaning against the tunnel wall and continues shortly after.
As Balthazar continues the path underground, he sees three lights moving around. He stops to think if its wizards of Jarrok but it doesn't seem possible since the lights were moving from another location.
"Who goes there?" Balthazar asks.
No answer. The lights get closer and closer until suddenly he sees three spirits before him.
"Don't hurt me! Leave! Begone!"
"We don't want to hurt you! We were sent to find you. We are from an elven outpost nearby. Follow us and we will lead the way to safety."
"What choice do I have?"
"If you want to die, stay here. If you want to live and have help, come with us."
Balthazar follows the three spirits to the exit, after a short journey of several turns in the tunnel, and arrive the elven outpost, exiting the tunnel.
Balthazar thanks the spirits that helped him. Shortly after, they turned into elves as they stood in front of him.
"Balthazar! I am glad you are still alive! The king will be glad to see you. Come! Follow us! Do not worry! We are close allies to your father. You're safe now."
"Who are you?"
"No time to lose! Come!"
Balthazar was led into the outpost keep and into a room with a full council waiting for his presence, with the king staring at Balthazar, in amazement.
