Ch. 4: Walk this way

Somewhere dark and filled with nothing but death, a Grimm emerges from a pool of black muck. It crawls from the pool, already with the instincts to search for something to kill. Mercury, who has been given new legs, and Emerald stand in a room, looking out a window overlooking this Grimm spawning ground. In this room, lit only by a dull purple crystal, are 4 people sitting at a table. All of them emanateing with sinister intent. The lady at the table snaps her fingers to summon Mercury and Emerald to her. It is Cinder, the scarring on her face a permanent reminder of what Damien did to her. When Emerald and Mercury arrive next to her, Emerald lightly shoves Mercury into position. The gentleman with the mustache across from her comments, "Do try to keep your...minions...in check." Mercury is agitated by this and tries to move but Emerald holds him back. "Do you hear that?...silence, I have half a mind to thank the man who bested you." He adds. Then the rather unhinged guy next to Cinder comments, "If I were you I'd hunt him down and well, he took your eye so how about returning the favor." He says with a sinister smile and laughs.

  "Considering her previous failures, I find it hard to think she is even capable of such a minor task." The gentleman says in a condescending way which makes Cinder grit her teeth in agitation. Salem enters the room and sits at the head of the table. She looks over and asks Watts, the gentleman, "To what failures are you referring?" Watts replies, "Well, this Damien character, this nobody, bested one of ours and that doesn't include the fact that the girl with silver eyes is out there with him." "We've dealt with her kind before, it won't be much of a challenge in the long run." The large man next to Watts says in a low monotone voice. "Be that as it may, Damien is still an unknown variable that may cause further disruption." Watts says, still concerned about the possibility. Cinder whispers into Emerald's ear, "Cinder says that once she is able, she will kill Damien personally." She tells them. "If he could beat you once, he will assuredly beat you again. Face it, you're too weak." Watts remarks which causes Cinder to stand and slam the table with her hand, some flames coming from her good eye. Salem interjects after Cinder's outburst, "Tyrian, Spring can wait, find this Damien and the girl." Tyrian rubs his hands together, "hahaha, it would be my pleasure." But Salem adds, "And bring them to me, alive." Tyrian seems disappointed but he must comply.

    Somewhere else, in a pristine forest, JNPR and the temporary team DYR (Dire) are busy hunting a Grimm at the behest of a nearby village. JNPR team is waiting at the ambush point for DYR to drive this Golem to them. Ruby is sniping the beast to lure it to the edge of a cliff, it tries to stop but Yang and Damien combo-punch the Golem from behind and it falls. Down below, JNPR assault the golem while it's vulnerable. The beast is resilient though, its stone shell protects it from their initial attacks. Jaune talks to the group over the comms, "Damien, we're having trouble breaking through that shell, think you can take a crack at it?" "I was hoping you'd ask." Damien says smiling. "See ya down below." He says to Yang as he walks off the cliff, giving her a half salute.

  As he falls, he pops his blades mid swan dive and slices one of the Golem's arms off, the beast recoils as Damien crashes to the ground next to the severed limb. It regains it's balance and shoots out a scrawny Grimm arm that latches onto a dead tree, which now acts as a new arm. "Huh, that's new." Damien comments as the Golem smacks him into the cliff side. "I'm okay...I don't think my leg is supposed to be bending this way though!" He yells out. While Damien gets himself together, the rest of the gang try and work out a solution, Jaune is the one to make the call, "It doesn't care about its limbs, only the face. Yang, Nora, attack from either side of it, get it to expose its face. Ren, Pyrrha back them up. Ruby, when you get a shot, blast it." They all get to their positions, the Golem strikes at both sides with great force. Yang catches the tree arm and holds on, Pyrrha assists. When the beast tries to hit them with the other arm, Nora and Ren shoot it so it only focuses that arm on them. They make an opening and Ruby snipes its face.
